A Catholic who follows Rome & the Magisterium. I'm against gay "marriage", abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, human cloning. Altar girls, Communion in the hand, Eucharistic Ministers and "Protestant" music in the Church doesn't bother me at all. A proud American retired submarine sailor. Our borders should be secured with a 10 ft. high fence topped by concertina wire with minefields out to 20 yards on both sides and an additional 10 yards filled with warning signs outside of that Let's get energy independent NOW! Back Israel to the max, stop appeasing followers of the Pedophile Prophet. Pro 2nd Amendment, pro death penalty, Repeal all hate crime legislation. Back the police unless you'd rather call a hippie when everything hits the fan. Get government out of dealing with education, childhood obesity and the enviornment. Stop using the military for sociological experiments and if we're in a war don't micromanage their every move. Kill your television, limit time on the computer and pick up a book. God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.

The Nanny State sinks to a new level....

Just when you think it can't get more intrusive; http://freebeacon.com/issues/epa-wants-to-monitor-how-long-hotel-guests-spend-in-the-shower/

In the last several years there have been stories about laptops issued by school districts that will monitor the users' actions without their knowledge, a school district in San Antonio with GPS chips in their student ID cards (mandatory for all of course), thermostats for home usage that can be remotely controlled and these are just what comes to mind as I sit here with my coffee trying to kill time while the kitchen floor gets tiled.

When the hell did we go from enjoying our individual lives and liberties into a hive existence? Because thats what it seems like, everyones' life becomes an open book for whatever intrusive cube ape working for the government wants to peer into.

Drones in the air, monitoring of Internet purchases (I WILL NOT buy that pressure cooker now!), cameras at every traffic light, intrusive searches at any major airport terminal, where does it all end?

A lot of it is done in the name of "public safety". Hey, the public will take care of itself when given half a chance. Look at how many would-be jihadists have been taken down by their fellow airplane passengers.

As for monitoring how long my shower might last when at a hotel, do ya think it stops there? I've already mentioned remotely controlled thermostats (which very thankfully were walked back after a public outcry). They started, IMHO, when the management of some hotels began limiting what a tenant could do with their room temperature.

Its the vigilance of the public that limits these things and quite often John & Joan Q. Public are asleep. Remember the last census and how it initially was criticized by Michelle Bachmann and others for being too inquisitive? Had it not been for her sounding the alarm the asshats in Foggy Bottom would know a lot more about the general public than they absolutely need to. If that doesn't seem to be an issue, look to Germany in the 1930's after Hitler took over. There was a VERY detailed census put out and all the good Germans did what they were told. Consequently when it came time to start rounding up the undesirables all the necessary data was at hand.

It's nobody's damned business if I take a long hot shower in a hotel. My kids don't need to be constantly monitored by strangers. If I want to buy a cooking utensil most people don't use these days it shouldn't be any concern of the government. End of story.

The list goes on and on, add to it as you like.

Bottom line: we're trading our freedoms for a false security. Yes, it even extends to how much water I use in the shower.

Big Brother on how to roast s'mores.

We. Are. Doomed.

Here's the link: http://blogs.usda.gov/2014/08/29/us-forest-service-asks-how-does-your-marshmallow-roast/

Laugh as you will, this is an example of our tax dollars at work. Is there nothing they can't micromanage? I'm eagerly waiting for instructions on how to wipe my butt in full compliance with the EPA.

Boy are we screwed.

UPDATE: Looks like the information is already out there and only needing governmental approval. http://www.howtowipeyourbutt.com/

Things I obsess about at oh dark thirty

So first out of the box comes a story about some kid getting busted for writing how he killed a dinosaur. What, is Fred Flintstone his principal? Here's the link: http://www.nbc12.com/story/26319685/cops-summerville-high-school-student-arrested-after-writing-threatening-message-on-assignment#.U_Sna8ZblaU.facebook

Please note this happened in South Carolina, not exactly known as a hotbed for liberal thinking.

There must be something in the water, lowering the national intelligence in all states. I'd like to say this story is an anomaly but we all know different. For example, theres another story about a kid in North Carolina getting in trouble for saying, "Bless You" when a classmate sneezed. Another story out of Tennessee about a middle school teacher having her class reenact the shooting in Ferguson, MO.

I see kids are no longer able to sell snacks at school since they don't meet the federal guidelines for healthy foods, hell in some schools they can't even bring them in to celebrate a birthday! This was brought about by legislation pushed by our dear First Lady. Who the hell elected her for anything anyway?

But the kids are getting well taught in how to place condoms on bananas. Life is all about priorities I guess.

I also see how an archbishop in Oklahoma is suing to stop a Black Mass using a consecrated Host. Lotsa luck your Excellency; I don't think it'll work. As has been noted by quite a few folks (many of them Protestants) discrimination against Catholics can count as the last allowed prejudice in our time.

Speaking of which, a couple who rent out their farm in New York for weddings and other events were successfully sued by a lesbian couple for not taking their business. Same old story, in this case we have a Catholic couple not wanting to seemingly endorse gay marriage. Funny thing, my copy of the Catechism bears them out. It doesn't matter though, they've got to pony up about 130 K plus attend diversity training/brainwashing/reeducation camp and pay for their employees to do the same. Right now they're weighing their options regarding appealing this crap. Thought crime will be stamped out no matter what and damn that pesky First Amendment!

Dear Leader has sent the nation's top cop to Ferguson. Upon arrival he immediately root smooched the black community, saying he basically felt their pain. I wonder if this nitwit knows he's a servant of ALL the people, not just those he chooses to suck up to prior to all the facts being known about an incident? Never mind, previous actions answer that question (dropping any action against the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation in Pennsylvania comes to mind).

As for the international front, Dear Leader is busily addressing all problems (ISIS, Iraq, Syria, Russia & Ukraine, Central American children swarming our borders, etc.) from the front seat of a golf cart. Maybe we should count our blessings, if he went back to D.C. he might actually try doing something and then we'd REALLY have problems. He spends so much time on the links I have to wonder if his old lady isn't cheating on him. Seen it happen before, a cat don't stray if it's fed at home and just how often are those two together?

As far as him sneaking under the sheets with some honey, I really can't see it. Not that he wouldn't, he's just too stupid to pull off any deception.

That leads to my closing thought; we don't have a Manchurian Candidate in the Oval Office, he isn't a closet Muslim setting us up for the next caliphate, nor intentionally trying to foment racial strife nor actively work in accordance with ANY hidden agenda. Dear Leader is just a dumbass. Period. I don't think he could pour piss out of a boot without instructions on his teleprompter.

But if you want to see real "stupid", remember that a majority of voters placed him in office twice. THATS where the real stupidity kicks in.

Maybe there is something in the water, I wonder how it got there. Now it's getting really late and I'm ready for beddy-bye. Hopefully the world is still here when I wake up.

Thoughtcrime in the heartland.

Here's the story, found via Moonbattery:

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — An outstanding athlete and student at Marshalltown High School has been suspended from playing three football games in the fall because his parents say the school misinterpreted a symbol of school pride — as a symbol of white pride.

Now, the principal is accusing the student, Blair Van Staalduine, of being a racist. “We were appalled,” Blair’s mother, Cathy Van Staalduine, said, “We were appalled and so was he. Absolutely. Because the furthest thing from Blair is being racist”

Cathy Van Staalduine says her son was suspended after a picture of him was posted on social media making the letter “W” with his hands. The school apparently thought that was a racist symbol. But Mrs. Van Staalduine says the picture was taken during school spirit week when different grades had to wear different colors.

“The actual school chose the colors that each grade would be wearing. Juniors wore white. So Blair of course being active in the school dressed from head to toe in white,” she explains, “Somebody took a picture of him with his white doing a ‘W’ sign because they were wearing white. Blair says if they were wearing orange they would have done an ‘O’”.

Mrs. Van Staalduine says she tried to talk to the principal and he said she was racist too. No one from the school district would comment citing student confidentiality. The Van Staalduines say they want the suspension reversed and an apology, or they plan to sue the district.

So let me get this one straight, the kid was on a social website during his own time and not involved in any school sanctioned activity. He was just being a kid but that gets him busted for racism? By the way even if he was guilty of that, when did preference for one's own ethnic group become an offense meriting punishment by school authorities?

That school principal needs a change of career. I hear Burger King is hiring.

About that Nevada rancher...

First, a hyperlink to the latest info: http://www.cnn.com/2014/04/10/us/nevada-rancher-rangers-cattle-showdown/

Okay, I figure Bundy is in the wrong for not paying taxes and fees. Shoot me if you want. But damn! Why didn't the Feds just freeze his bank account(s) or utilize some other nonconfrontational method to resolve this. Hitting someone in the pocketbook will get their attention PDQ. Sending in the BLM troops is BS, why couldn't it have been handled in a more low key manner? As a taxpayer I'd really like some answers, especially since it appears someone will be killed before this is all over.

If the end goal is to instill fear of resisting the government, it appears to be backfiring. This guy is becoming a hero and plenty of folk are sticking up for him.

For some reason I'm reminded of John Peter Zenger . A few accounts of him portray a nut who was perpetually at odds with the local government. But his case laid the foundation for the freedom of the press we enjoy in this nation. So when all is said and done, personality doesn't always count too much.

Unfortunately I don't see a nonviolent end to this present confrontation. Buckle your seat belts folks, our nation as we knew it is dead and it'll be a wild ride before all the dust settles.

God's will be done, may He have mercy on us all.

UPDATE: Evidently the Feds have blinked and are backing down before anyone got hurt: http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/62385

Thanks be to God.

Will the braclets have yellow star pendants too?

This is just off the charts stupid: http://freebeacon.com/issues/holder-we-want-to-explore-gun-tracking-bracelets/

It's scary too.

Full disclosure time: I actually think some time should be spent on a national debate regarding gun control. There, I said it. Now grab the pitchforks and torches, I'll be waiting.

However in my own defense I'd like to add that several years ago I gave up advocating for any exploration into the merits of gun control. This was because there is no possibility of finding common ground between the wingnuts driving the issue. On the left there are fools who faint if a six year old points a finger at someone and yells "BANG!" while on the right the counterparts of those fools thinks it's perfectly okey-dokey to have your very own ICBM in the back yard.

When I gave up advocating for a discussion I went to the "own the ICBM" party. At least they aren't trying to take anything away from anyone!

So about those bracelets.

Hey, we're proven geniuses at demonizing whoever might be out of favor at the moment. Look at cigarette smoking, it's gone from being considered unhealthy to downright evil & immoral. "Back in the day" having a good smoke was considered relaxing. Even Rudyard Kipling thought more highly of his cigars than a woman: http://www.bartleby.com/364/31.html . Now you half expect the smell of fire and brimstone when someone indulges in a still highly legal activity.

Back to the main topic.

I don't want to be tracked via a bracelet or any other device. I don't want the government to know whenever I might squeeze off a few rounds. I want the government out of my life, period.

Ya know how the German Nazis knew with unerring efficiency who was Jewish? They had highly detailed census data to rely upon. Census data taken in 1934 with the full compliance of a docile population. Check it out if you don't believe me:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_and_the_Holocaust

So yeah, giving the government any more information about me or my actions is scary. In plain unadorned English: FUCK 'EM!!! ( so much for my resolution to clean up the trash talk )

Thanks for listening, God's will be done.

FCC regarding newsroom monitors. (Update added)

Here's the latest on the FCC monitoring what comes from the newsrooms of the MSM: http://thehill.com/blogs/hillicon-valley/technology/198799-fcc-no-intention-of-regulating-journalism

Basically they're telling the world, "Trust me". That reminds me of an old joke; "How does someone from New York City tell you to get screwed?"

The answer is "Trust me."

I can believe no one has evil intent in regards to this, but then who gets up in the morning, stretches his arms out and shouts, "What a wonderful day! It's time to perpetrate evil in any way possible!"

Hey, even Hitler thought he was justified for his actions. So did Stalin. So did Mao. The list goes on
and on.

This week the FCC will be content with peeking over the shoulders of newsroom workers. In the future whats to prevent them from "suggesting" what stories to cover and in what manner?

Did we forget the lessons taught by the trial of John Peter Zenger? Ae we so far down the road to perdition we completely disregard such things?

UPDATE: Evidently the cockroaches are scurrying out of the light: http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2014/02/fcc-backs-off-newsroom-study-183772.html

Another reason to get my news from the Net.

So now the FCC may be monitoring how the MSM does their job: http://www.redstate.com/diary/matthewclark/2014/02/18/obama-administration-putting-government-monitors-newsrooms/

Maybe they haven't bowed deeply enough to The One.

Stand by folks, it's getting worse. No, it won't matter who sits in the Oval Office come Jan. 16, 2017. My money still says there will be a "crisis" of some sort resulting in the imposition of martial law, a lockdown of our nation and 1984, here we come!

But I could be wrong, Madame Hillary could be elected and safely assume office, it won't matter though. The deals have been made, the die is cast and we are screwed. If I have the misfortune to be right the only thing saving us will be a successful counter revolution (Holy God in Heaven, am I REALLY saying this?). Don't bet on a counter revolution, don't bet on success. We can only go out like men. No retreat and no surrender once the battles begin.

May God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.

Tinfoil hat time?

So let me see if I understand some recent stories. The DOJ has decided that minority students can't be disciplined in the same manner as their white classmates. The IRS will insure employers don't fire their workers in order to more easily comply with the Affordable Care Act. The DOJ will now recognize all same sex weddings in every state (all 57?) regardless of what local law may proscribe. The head of that same DOJ is now pushing for ex felons to be given the right to vote. The DHS is currently in the market for 141,000 rounds of sniper quality ammo (and it's damn depressing when Alex Jones is accurately covering such a story). The Ohio National Guard recently conducted training under a scenario where right-wing terrorists were the designated foe. Let's not forget the DOD school for the military's EO program has been caught promulgating the notion that conservative Christians and their values are not to be tolerated.

Another way to see it is that the Feds are completely taking over our kids' education and morphing it into genuine propaganda (while all students will be equal some will be more equal than others). The private market place is coming under complete government control. The voter base for our current regime will be expanded by any means possible (I haven't even mentioned pandering to the illegal immigrants). Our government is conditioning the military into a mindset of unquestioning animosity towards traditional values at the same time their prepping for war against the civilian community at large (if you think G.I. Joe will conscientiously refer to the copy of the Constitution he carries in his backpack, think again. Our troops are just as ignorant as their civilian counterparts, after all they DID attend the same schools.).

Did I miss any big ticket items? Am I misstating anything here?

Tell me again how things will magically turn around in 2016 and I'll tell you how I doubt it. Tell me again how we can't possibly be seeing the groundwork laid for the declaration of martial law. Keep telling me and as God is my witness, I hope you'll be right.

Because right now I've a feeling we're all in for a taste of Hell on Earth.

God's will be done, may He have mercy upon us all.

Booster seats for kids.

Disclaimer: I grew up without booster seats, child restraints or seat belts being used to keep me in the car. I also rode my bike without a helmet on public highways. Maybe that qualifies me as some sort of daredevil.

So what comes next, mandatory bubblewrap? http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2013/11/07/safety-institute-suggests-booster-seats-until-kids-reach-12/

I'm all for protecting the children, in a previous post I disclosed how the wife and I never let our kids out the front door without supervision. As far as that goes, there are several relatives on both sides that we'd never let supervise our children.

But c'mon, 12 years old and still in a booster seat? I remember back in high school we had varsity wrestlers in the 98 lb. weight class, right now my 10 year old exceeds that. Picture telling some high schooler he had to be in a booster seat while in your car, then stand by for some rather salty language.

This world gets stranger by the hour.

A bad idea from good intentions.

Here's the link: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/11/06/Schumer-Asks-DOJ-for-GPS-Devices-for-Autistic-Children

A little personal background if you don't mind.

My three kids are all on the autism spectrum. They go from readily identifiable as such (the oldest boy) to just kinda weird in behavior (our daughter, the youngest). I wouldn't let a single one of them outside the house without the supervision of my wife or myself. They have no real sense of self preservation (my nine year old is still learning that you look both ways before crossing a street or parking lot) and their sense of direction is questionable. The youngest boy (aged 8) can be almost unintelligible at the best of times, put him under any stress and he freezes up. The girl may one day drive a car, the boys will never do that. They've never owned bikes, the trikes we bought were unused due to a lack of coordination.

You got the picture ten minutes ago but I habitually run off at the mouth. Bottom line: they might benefit from a GPS style tracking system.

So I'll give all kinds of personal data about my special needs kids to some nameless, faceless schmoe via computer or telephone, then maybe some day I'll be late picking them up from school and an "uncle" will call them from the sidewalk. It's chaotic at best when school lets out so the teachers could easily miss my child walking hand-in-hand to the parking lot with a stranger. About all that GPS chip would do is help locate the remains. Yeah, that sort of thinking REALLY makes me want to apply for this sort of service. NOT!

Then theres another thought, what happens if the culture at large turns against special needs kids and adults? Suppose we had another Great Depression level economic disaster, in our present day do you think all the perks, considerations and government mandated charity would survive? Personally I think everyone would revert to the philosophy of , "In a rat race only the rats win." Please remember we live in a time when you're regarded as slightly odd if you advocate for the abolition of abortion. True compassion is only skin deep.

The way we see more authoritarian thinking creeping into our government the more I wonder if there might be an American version of "Action T4" in our future. Think it can't happen here? Tell me why and reassure an old sub sailor that the milk of human kindness flows like a river in the hearts of all.

Remember to start your tale with, "Once Upon A Time" as that's how all fairy tales begin.

A Texas Mother Thanks Dear Leader...

Evidently this little missive is making the rounds of the internet;

Dear President Obama,

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all you have done and are doing. You see I am a single Mom located in the very small town of Palmer, Texas. I live in a small rental house with my two children. I drive an older car that I pray daily runs just a little longer. I work at a mediocre job bringing home a much lower paycheck than you or your wife could even imagine living on. I have a lot of concerns about the new “Obamacare” along with the taxes being forced on us Americans and debts you are adding to our country. I have a few questions for you Mr. President.

Have you ever struggled to pay your bills? I have.

Have you ever sat and watched your children eat and you eat what was left on their plates when they were done, because there wasn’t enough for you to eat to? I have.

Have you ever had to rob Peter to pay Paul, and it still not be enough? I have.

Have you ever been so sick that you needed to see a doctor and get medicine, but had no health insurance because it was too expensive? I have.

Have you ever had to tell your children no, when they asked for something they needed? I have.

Have you ever patched holes in pants, glued shoes, replaced zippers, because it was cheaper than buying new? I have.

Have you ever had to put an item or two back at the grocery store, because you didn’t have enough money? I have.

Have you ever cried yourself to sleep, because you had no clue how you were going to make ends meet? I have.

My questions could go on and on. I don’t believe you have a clue what Americans are actually going through and honestly, I don’t believe you care. Not everyone lives extravagantly. While your family takes expensive trips that cost more than most of us make in two-four years, there are so many of us that suffer. Yet, you are doing all you can to add to the suffering. I think you are a very selfish and cold hearted man, who does not care what is best for the people he was elected by (not by me) to represent, but more so out for the glory of your name attached to history. So thank you Mr. President, thank you for pushing those of us that are barely staying afloat completely under water and driving America into the ground. You have made your mark in history, as the absolute worst and most hated president of the United States. God have mercy on your soul!

Sincerely,

Yolanda Vestal

Transgender "rights" result in school promoting sexual harassment...

Here's the story: http://www.charismanews.com/us/41346-transgender-boy-harassing-girls-in-the-bathroom-gets-no-punishment

Gee, who couldn't see this one coming?

I'd always wondered about those who wouldn't shower after PE and wanted to clean up at home. It always seemed just a little "sissy" to me and that would include the girls who refused to publicly clean up. Modesty was never my strong suit I guess.

But I'll be encouraging my own kids to come home to freshen up, because the next thing we'll hear are stories of lockeroom rape that are discounted by various school administrations. If you think I'm wearing the tinfoil hat, just wait.

Time for a revolution.

Here's why: http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Closure-of-War-Memorials-Continues-to-Cause-Conflict-226481851.html

When you can't even pay your respects to the dead due to political games then somebody needs an ass whipping.

It wasn't bad enough that the Viet Nam War was so mismanaged that we're still not too certain WHY we were over there. It wasn't bad enough that the MSM was actively seeking out every nitwit who would trash talk the military and present their opinion as "thoughtful commentary". It wasn't bad enough that anyone fighting there became fair game for the politcally correct self-adulating numbskulls of our nation's colleges & universities. It wasn't bad enough that when our troops exposed to Agent Orange started having problems from it, the intial reaction was "What a bunch of whiners, the good ole US of A would NEVER do that to our own!". It wasn't bad enough that idiots like Jane Fonda and John Kerry profited by vilifying those who served. It wasn't bad enough that initially Viet Nam vets were barred from membership in the VFW because "Viet Nam wasn't REALLY a war" (this was the sentiment from members of the so called "Greatest Generation").

Nope, now they can't even honor their dead.

It's time for someone to get their ass whipped (I already said that but it needed repeating).

Obama as King Canute?

You can't make this stuff up: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/10/05/Feds-Try-to-Close-the-OCEAN-Because-of-Shutdown

Well he DID say that if he was elected the planet would heal and oceans recede. Maybe this is a part of that.

Children as agents of the State...

Well it wasn't enough that some schools had their children actually singing the praises of Obama: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/24/review-ordered-video-showing-students-singing-praises-president-obama/ . Nope, no reason to stop there.

Now we have school kids being indoctrinated to shill for government programs: http://news.investors.com/politics-andrew-malcolm/062813-661774-los-angeles-schools-teach-students-to-enroll-parents-in-obamacare.htm

So the next logical step would be for the little darlings to monitor their parent's response to such tactics, noting when their family expresses skepticism or outright derision. All of that can be reported back to the school who will notify the appropriate authorities.

Who might those authorities be? Well anyone tasked with preventing child abuse or neglect and the expression of negative opinions regarding hallowed government programs would certainly indicate a large potential for abuse. We can't be too careful, remember this is all for the sake of the children.

Do you think these are tin foil hat type ruminations? I hope they are, I truly hope thats all they are.

God have mercy upon us all and may His will be done.

Just how stupid can the government get?

Apparently there is no discernible limit: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/06/29/hare-brained-usda-reportedly-orders-childrens-magician-to-produce-disaster-plan-for-his-rabbit/

I recall reading somewhere that we have now reached a point where EVERYBODY is breaking the law in some manner unknown to them. This applies particularly to our IRS code.

Since ignorance of the law has never been an acceptable excuse in this nation, we can see how the ongoing persecution of the usual suspects is shaping up. I could cite several cases such as Sackett vs. EPA but is it necessary?

The idiocy of the government can be comical or it can be tragic. Either way, John & Joan Q. Public are footing the bill. Our tax dollars at work.

American Storm Troopers of the IRS

Keeping in mind the scrutiny brought upon various groups by the IRS, I'd recommend viewing this video: http://youtu.be/Z8mkqI_dVJg

Yep, the IRS in action. I noted the comment made at about the twelve minute mark as to how many of the agents involved were from all over the nation. Not only is this an example of our tax dollars at work, it highlights how these intimidating tactics can be effectively brought to bear upon a civilian population. Let's face it, anyone with ties to the local community is more likely to ease up a bit on the bullying. There's a connection there not present when you bring in outsiders.

So our well equipped, adequately armed IRS sends in their bully boys to intimidate John Q. Public. Please note this is the same IRS currently under fire for harassing various groups out of favor with the establishment. The same IRS who have taken part in the alleged massive ammo purchasing documented at various sites. Yeah, that IRS.

Are these attacks on small businesses a rehearsal for things to come? Will we see similar scenarios played out in other areas once Obamacare and it's IRS implementation kick in? Hey, how about the enforcement of that HHS mandate being contested by so many religious bodies and their followers? Imagine a raid similar to what was shown in the video taking place at the main offices of Hobby Lobby, or your local Catholic diocesan chancery offices. Here's another man's take on how the IRS will act at that time:  http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323734304578542981761557180.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_LEADTop

Do you think we'll see a letup in the next national elections? Au contraire, they are a long way away. A lot can happen before then, some of it to be used as justifying the suspension of those elections. Don't expect an outraged populace to rise up in it's wrath as the Constitution is tossed into the trash can, as evidence of the wide spread apathy across the land just look at how the scandals involving Benghazi, the IRS, the FBI monitoring the AP, the NSA bugging the snot out of everyone are all currently placed in the back pages of the local fishwrap as soon as possible. Do you hear a lot of outrage? I sure don't. If anything I hear a lot of justification for the government abuses of power now coming to light.

See you in the Chestnut Tree Cafe. God's will be done, may He have mercy upon us all.

Monday, June 10, 2013

Just how bad can it get?

That seems to be the underlying thought a lot of folks have when excusing the actions of the NSA. It seems that belief in common sense and it's pervasive influence over the dingbats of our nation never dies. "It can't happen here" is the unspoken refrain.

Then I read stuff like this and I'm not too sure: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accoustic_kitty

This is what happens when stupid people are given the money of other folks. If they'll try off the wall crap like wiring cats for sound, what won't they try with technology that actually works?

Now excuse me, I've got to go figure out how to avoid my two cats when I'm blogging. They're listening you know, they're really listening

Since when did the IRS become interested in gathering intelligence?

For what reason are our tax dollars being used for this? When did the IRS get into espionage? I certainly want some answers, that's MY money being used for them to play silly games.

Since I've an active imagination, my first thought is they'll want to bug meetings of groups advocating tax reform.

Our government is out of control, time for a BIG change! I'd like to think it won't involve violence. But I really don't know. There's been so much crap going down lately, I wonder if getting Foggy Bottom under control isn't akin to putting toothpaste back in the tube.
