A Catholic who follows Rome & the Magisterium. I'm against gay "marriage", abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, human cloning. Altar girls, Communion in the hand, Eucharistic Ministers and "Protestant" music in the Church doesn't bother me at all. A proud American retired submarine sailor. Our borders should be secured with a 10 ft. high fence topped by concertina wire with minefields out to 20 yards on both sides and an additional 10 yards filled with warning signs outside of that Let's get energy independent NOW! Back Israel to the max, stop appeasing followers of the Pedophile Prophet. Pro 2nd Amendment, pro death penalty, Repeal all hate crime legislation. Back the police unless you'd rather call a hippie when everything hits the fan. Get government out of dealing with education, childhood obesity and the enviornment. Stop using the military for sociological experiments and if we're in a war don't micromanage their every move. Kill your television, limit time on the computer and pick up a book. The NYPD and our nation's police...

California used to be considered a national trendsetter. Let some cultural innovation catch on out there and supposedly it was only a matter of time before the required thought processes traveled north and east. It may still be that way for many things, I sure hope not.

However other states & cities are also harbringers of things to come. One of them (IMHO) would be NYC. For those of you who detest the Yankees in general and inhabitants of the Big Apple in particular, my condolences. It is what it is.

So that may be why so much attention is currently being paid to the strife between Mayor DeBlasio and the NYPD. If a grand jury verdict for a case like the death of Garner and the following chaos happened in Seattle would anyone pay as much attention? Methinks not.

So when the cops openly defy Hizzoner at a funeral by turning their backs to him; it gets a lot of attention. It seems folks are shocked, shocked I tell you that the rank and file don't appreciate the recent comments made about them.

Imagine, in an occupation where threats to life are to be expected (http://dnainfo.com/new-york/20141231/civic-center/nypd-investigating-threats-kill-officers-on-new-years-eve-sources-say)
the lowly badge wearer expects support from his supervisors.

Obviously it's the fault of the police themselves, they should know their place (http://thefederalist.com/2014/12/31/the-nypds-revolt-is-a-direct-threat-to-democracy/) lest they put us all on the road to Third World anarchy. Noted. Never mind that this sort of threat to the police is spreading (http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/12/31/one-look-at-the-graffiti-image-scrawled-near-a-police-station-and-its-clear-why-officers-are-so-upset/).

All the tongue-in-cheek commentary aside, this blowback by the police was to be expected. Did everyone believe they would meekly go their way, bowing heads in shame whenever some wingnut on the street started screaming, "Racist cops!"?

I believe they've had enough, not just in NYC but all over the nation. In the Big Apple they're starting to NOT enforce the laws. Who can blame them? They'll get paid regardless and if the higher ups are going to swing at them like a bunch of kids at a pinata why stick their necks out? Why put themselves in the line of verbal abuse?

The consequence of this will be the spread of crime throughout the land. As New York goes, so goes the nation.

Stock up on ammo, go to the range more often. Be aware of your surroundings at all times.

Welcome to the 21st century version of America.

Good Intentions, Bad Idea.

Here's the link: http://news.yahoo.com/u-help-train-people-spot-potential-violent-extremists-100338697.html

Yes, we need to ramp up our efforts to stop followers of the Pedophile Prophet from giving their version of "high and tight" to the necks of their enemies (which includes most of the Free World).

But this sort of thing can be turned to other uses too damned easily. Today they look for potential recruits for jihad, tomorrow it could be Tea Party members, fundamentalist Christians, you name it.

I actually LIKE the idea of living amongst nut cases that are one step short of certifiable, it reminds me of my days in the military. I DON'T like the idea of legislating political loyalty, morality or anything else. For example, if theres a problem with too many people accepting abortion then it's incumbent upon the prolife community to get the word out about the true nature of things. Legislation doesn't help, look at Prohibition, all it did was erode the idea of following unpopular laws.

Can't those damned fools in DC do anything right?

The USA vs. Sisters of the Poor.

Here's the link: http://www.lifenews.com/2014/09/09/obama-admin-renews-attempt-to-force-little-sisters-of-the-poor-to-obey-hhs-mandate/

Just MHO but I believe the Administration is waiting for a break in the ranks of the Faithful in regards to rejecting the HHS mandate. They sure to have been encouraged by the recent capitulation of Notre Dame http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/notre-dames-student-health-plan-will-cover-contraceptives-abortifacients/

So they're sure to keep on pushing until a sufficient number of  "Catholic" entities admit defeat that any objection will be seen as coming from a fringe group.

Next up will be the issue of gay "marriage".

The question can be asked "just what could any human gain in this"? That question could come from all sides of the debate. Call me a loon but it isn't human gain that is at issue here, Satan benefits when those speaking for the people of God are discredited. End of story.

About that Nevada rancher...

First, a hyperlink to the latest info: http://www.cnn.com/2014/04/10/us/nevada-rancher-rangers-cattle-showdown/

Okay, I figure Bundy is in the wrong for not paying taxes and fees. Shoot me if you want. But damn! Why didn't the Feds just freeze his bank account(s) or utilize some other nonconfrontational method to resolve this. Hitting someone in the pocketbook will get their attention PDQ. Sending in the BLM troops is BS, why couldn't it have been handled in a more low key manner? As a taxpayer I'd really like some answers, especially since it appears someone will be killed before this is all over.

If the end goal is to instill fear of resisting the government, it appears to be backfiring. This guy is becoming a hero and plenty of folk are sticking up for him.

For some reason I'm reminded of John Peter Zenger . A few accounts of him portray a nut who was perpetually at odds with the local government. But his case laid the foundation for the freedom of the press we enjoy in this nation. So when all is said and done, personality doesn't always count too much.

Unfortunately I don't see a nonviolent end to this present confrontation. Buckle your seat belts folks, our nation as we knew it is dead and it'll be a wild ride before all the dust settles.

God's will be done, may He have mercy on us all.

UPDATE: Evidently the Feds have blinked and are backing down before anyone got hurt: http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/62385

FCC regarding newsroom monitors. (Update added)

Here's the latest on the FCC monitoring what comes from the newsrooms of the MSM: http://thehill.com/blogs/hillicon-valley/technology/198799-fcc-no-intention-of-regulating-journalism

Basically they're telling the world, "Trust me". That reminds me of an old joke; "How does someone from New York City tell you to get screwed?"

The answer is "Trust me."

I can believe no one has evil intent in regards to this, but then who gets up in the morning, stretches his arms out and shouts, "What a wonderful day! It's time to perpetrate evil in any way possible!"

Hey, even Hitler thought he was justified for his actions. So did Stalin. So did Mao. The list goes on
and on.

This week the FCC will be content with peeking over the shoulders of newsroom workers. In the future whats to prevent them from "suggesting" what stories to cover and in what manner?

Did we forget the lessons taught by the trial of John Peter Zenger? Ae we so far down the road to perdition we completely disregard such things?

UPDATE: Evidently the cockroaches are scurrying out of the light: http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2014/02/fcc-backs-off-newsroom-study-183772.html

Another reason to get my news from the Net.

So now the FCC may be monitoring how the MSM does their job: http://www.redstate.com/diary/matthewclark/2014/02/18/obama-administration-putting-government-monitors-newsrooms/

Maybe they haven't bowed deeply enough to The One.

Stand by folks, it's getting worse. No, it won't matter who sits in the Oval Office come Jan. 16, 2017. My money still says there will be a "crisis" of some sort resulting in the imposition of martial law, a lockdown of our nation and 1984, here we come!

But I could be wrong, Madame Hillary could be elected and safely assume office, it won't matter though. The deals have been made, the die is cast and we are screwed. If I have the misfortune to be right the only thing saving us will be a successful counter revolution (Holy God in Heaven, am I REALLY saying this?). Don't bet on a counter revolution, don't bet on success. We can only go out like men. No retreat and no surrender once the battles begin.

May God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.

Tinfoil hat time?

So let me see if I understand some recent stories. The DOJ has decided that minority students can't be disciplined in the same manner as their white classmates. The IRS will insure employers don't fire their workers in order to more easily comply with the Affordable Care Act. The DOJ will now recognize all same sex weddings in every state (all 57?) regardless of what local law may proscribe. The head of that same DOJ is now pushing for ex felons to be given the right to vote. The DHS is currently in the market for 141,000 rounds of sniper quality ammo (and it's damn depressing when Alex Jones is accurately covering such a story). The Ohio National Guard recently conducted training under a scenario where right-wing terrorists were the designated foe. Let's not forget the DOD school for the military's EO program has been caught promulgating the notion that conservative Christians and their values are not to be tolerated.

Another way to see it is that the Feds are completely taking over our kids' education and morphing it into genuine propaganda (while all students will be equal some will be more equal than others). The private market place is coming under complete government control. The voter base for our current regime will be expanded by any means possible (I haven't even mentioned pandering to the illegal immigrants). Our government is conditioning the military into a mindset of unquestioning animosity towards traditional values at the same time their prepping for war against the civilian community at large (if you think G.I. Joe will conscientiously refer to the copy of the Constitution he carries in his backpack, think again. Our troops are just as ignorant as their civilian counterparts, after all they DID attend the same schools.).

Did I miss any big ticket items? Am I misstating anything here?

Tell me again how things will magically turn around in 2016 and I'll tell you how I doubt it. Tell me again how we can't possibly be seeing the groundwork laid for the declaration of martial law. Keep telling me and as God is my witness, I hope you'll be right.

Because right now I've a feeling we're all in for a taste of Hell on Earth.

God's will be done, may He have mercy upon us all.

Wendy Davis will be elected Governor of Texas and here is why...

So now it comes out that Wendy Davis fudged on the facts of her life. Big surprise, a politician lying. Somebody catch me as I faint!

I don't believe this will kill her chances on being elected governor here in Texas. The reason? Folks who have an ounce of common sense are too disgusted to vote, that leaves the field wide open for the Dimwit Democrats to take over. If you don't believe me, look at who occupies the White House.

Sorry, I'm bummed out on a regular basis these days. Our nation is gone and all that's left is to wait for the walls to come crashing down. In the meantime I try to focus on the most important thing; raising my children.

We don't need no stinking innocence!

Here's an article concerning a case in Massachusetts: http://townhall.com/columnists/ginaluttrell/2013/12/09/annie-dookhans-falsified-lab-data-symptom-of-a-corrupted-system-n1759588

Let's add one about recent "voluntary" submissions of blood and saliva samples: http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/North-Texas-Drivers-Stopped-at-Roadblock-Asked-for-Saliva-Blood-232438621.html

Mix well and Presto! We not only lose the idea of "innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt", we lose the entire idea of innocence.

Welcome to Amerikka comrades.

If your kid isn't in good health the doctors won't treat him!

Okay; here's the link: http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/30/health/disabled-transplants/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

So I can understand that the supply of spare organs is limited. Got it. But completely throwing in the towel on a child (as every hospital but the last cited in the article did) is just plain wrong.

Seek a second opinion? At least.

This will spill over into the "geezer generation" soon too, if it hasn't already.

Please understand this has absolutely N-O-T-H-I-N-G to do with Obamacare or any political consideration. These doctors were in their positions of authority long before The One came into the Oval Office. The problem shown here is typical of our entire culture. We've lost our Christian moorings and are adrift now. The solution is the rebuilding of our civilization from the ground up, starting with the children. Inculcate Christian values into them, raise them properly and the problems plaguing our nation will subside.

But by the time those children are running the show it will probably be too late. God's will be done, may He have mercy upon us all.

The Knockout Game.

Well it seems more folk are starting to wake up to this new past time for immoral kids. Theres more coverage of it, albeit mostly in the alternative media. But I've a feeling that'll change fairly soon.

As a matter of fact, I think there will be a few significant changes as far as this amusement for feral youth is concerned.

One: It'll spread across the nation more quickly now that the stories concerning it are coming more into the public eye. Every punk wannabe is going to start eyeing prospective targets.

Two: It's a black kid game right now, in short order there'll be plenty of white boys hopping aboard the bandwagon. The only difference will be when little Tommy Whitebread whose parents are the pillars of the community decks some geezer there will be a phalanx of lawyers and shrinks crying tears as big as horse turds in the courtroom. This will go on at the same time Jamal is hung out to dry. One thing I've learned over the years is that the game of victimhood is best played by those with money.

To all my readers (both of you) I advise always being aware of your surroundings and carry some sort of equalizer. Personally speaking, I'm always armed with Bear Spray when I walk my dog now, it's good for both two legged and four legged varmints. This is solely because I don't have a CHL and the environment I walk through is well known to me, more so than for any possible perpetrators looking for an easy mark. Bear Spray isn't all I carry, the other options aren't firearms but they're effective enough if I need 'em. On topics such as this there occasionally are some real enthusiasts for the use of guns who make themselves heard. It's like a religion to them and the thought of firing off a few rounds in self defense is almost a source of holy ecstasy for them, or so it seems.

So for any members of the First National Church of the 2nd Amendment who feel guns are the only answer and my refusal to carry one under these circumstances is tantamount to heresy; pack sand, I know what I'm doing here. Bear Spray won't penetrate any nearby homes and kill some kid in a crib.

Feral youth are nothing new, it's just that till recently they haven't been much in evidence in this nation. That is about to change in a big way. Stay aware, stay safe.

Your hemorroids belong to us!

Evidently some cops in New Mexico bring their sexual preferences to work: http://lasvegas.cbslocal.com/2013/11/06/man-claims-he-was-anally-probed-8-times-following-traffic-stop-for-drugs/

So the moral of the story goes, when stopped in Amerikka for rolling through a stop sign, as you're exiting the car on command you must crap all over yourself.

Honestly, I try giving cops the benefit of the doubt but how do you excuse this one? My own take on it is that since so many folks agreed to this (doctors, cops, a judge) we're seeing further evidence of our cultural breakdown. If it were just a couple of bozos acting on their own (as recently happened in Texas when a woman was strip searched on the side of the road) we could give this a pass. Yet this incident needed the cooperation of several folks who would have had no day to day contact with each other. The doughnut gestapo maybe knew what judge would go for this but evidently they had to shop around a bit for a doctor and his staff that would acquiesce. It wasn't too difficult though. To easily find this number of malpracticing morons in the middle of the night should get more attention than a few chuckles while surfing the web.

When folks defiantly declare our police and military would never ever willingly act as members of a repressive authoritarian regime, they may want to think of incidents such as this first.

UPDATE: Evidently that part of New Mexico is a good place to avoid: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/11/06/another-minor-traffic-stop-in-new-mexico-another-serious-violation-of-a-mans-body-same-exact-police-dog/

FWIW, the Navy used dogs to detect drugs when I was on active duty. They were famous for bogus "hits". All they seemed to do was allow some overpaid, under trained, arrogant schmuck in a security uniform to trash a man's locker or barracks room. As I said, they were famous for being wrong as a football bat.

On a lighter note, one set of enterprising sailors who knew their barracks was due for a K-9 search procured some pot, soaked it in water they'd boiled in their microwave, strained the liquid, added it to a full bucket and swabbed the deck. It had dried by the time "Fido" came through. According to reliable sources, the dog went nuts! I've always wondered how they could search a tiled floor after a hit like that, with some of the schmoes working Naval Security you can bet anything was possible.

Time for a revolution.

Here's why: http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Closure-of-War-Memorials-Continues-to-Cause-Conflict-226481851.html

When you can't even pay your respects to the dead due to political games then somebody needs an ass whipping.

It wasn't bad enough that the Viet Nam War was so mismanaged that we're still not too certain WHY we were over there. It wasn't bad enough that the MSM was actively seeking out every nitwit who would trash talk the military and present their opinion as "thoughtful commentary". It wasn't bad enough that anyone fighting there became fair game for the politcally correct self-adulating numbskulls of our nation's colleges & universities. It wasn't bad enough that when our troops exposed to Agent Orange started having problems from it, the intial reaction was "What a bunch of whiners, the good ole US of A would NEVER do that to our own!". It wasn't bad enough that idiots like Jane Fonda and John Kerry profited by vilifying those who served. It wasn't bad enough that initially Viet Nam vets were barred from membership in the VFW because "Viet Nam wasn't REALLY a war" (this was the sentiment from members of the so called "Greatest Generation").

Nope, now they can't even honor their dead.

It's time for someone to get their ass whipped (I already said that but it needed repeating).

The Zimmerman case and dogs not barking...

Okay, the Zimmerman trial is over but the furor continues. See the stories here, here, and here for a taste of whats going on.

Our self-styled masters are happily watching while the hoi-poli get their panties in a twist while ignoring the slight of hand being played out right in front of our eyes.

In the last week or so have we seen anything about Benghazi, the NSA monitoring of all communications (yep, Snowden's flight has gotten SOME press. It's a side issue to the problem he brought to light), the wiretapping of the AP by the FBI? Nope, I haven't seen much (if anything) either.

Instead of that we're fed sensationalist crap. Yeah, Zimmerman's trial held a lot of folks' attention. Many people could relate to either the defendant or the deceased youth he shot. Got it.

But that identification only served to allow us to be further divided. For this I place the blame squarely on the shoulders of our politicians. Examples can be found here, here and here.

Chief amongst them is what our Commander-in-Chief has said. Hey, didja notice that his words do NOTHING to pour oil on troubled waters, that they allow another opening for the topic of gun control (never let a crisis go to waste)?

The MSM continues it's love affair with all liberal thinking. as proven here. No oil on troubled waters from that quarter either. I originally thought they weren't giving a lot of coverage to the riotous aftermath that is now growing since the trial verdict came in due to a desire to help keep the lid on things. No such luck. If they'd actually been trying to tone down the violence the airheads I just cited would have been muzzled. So why are the incidents of unrest being downplayed by our own media so that the most reliable reporting comes from the likes of the BBC? My guess is that by keeping it off the front page there'll be more time for it to further evolve and take root. Then when it finally does hit the front page of our local fish wrap it will be accompanied by loud cries for our government to "do something" and the more drastic the better. Maybe by itself it can't be used for imposition of marital law, but toss in another Boston Marathon type bombing or Sandy Hook shooting and who knows what we'll be ready to accept in the way of our liberties being curtailed?

All of this goes on while those items we should actually be concerned about die a quiet death. Heard anything lately about Fast & Furious? Me neither. The questions about Benghazi are petering out of the news also. Ditto for the FBI wiretapping the AP. As previously mentioned the only thing we hear with any regularity about the NSA is an update on Snowden's whereabouts. The REAL questions are being ignored, questions such as "If this surveillance was so great how was it the Boston Marathon got bombed like it did?"

We're being played like a piano, the government and it's MSM lackeys might as well be Van Cliburn.

Look, I followed the Zimmerman trial as avidly as anyone else. But at the end of the day, just how important was it? Never mind my personal opinions on whether justice was done, anyone who spent five minutes reading this blog can figure that one out. The trial and verdict ARE-NOT-IMPORTANT!! Sensational courtroom drama comes and goes, we've seen the OJ trial, the Michael Jackson trial, the Kermit Gosnell trial, and the beat goes on. How much importance did ANY of these exercises in jurisprudence have for the average man on the street? The answer is Z-I-P-P-O.

Nowhere near as important as the erosion of our liberties. The things we should be getting riled up about are kept out of sight as much as possible. In their place we're offered a lot of intellectual fluff.

Well continue to see these charades played out. As more scandals come to light, more of them will be relegated to the back pages of the local fishwrap while "human interest" type stories take over the front page. Some kid in East Oshkosh will fall down a well and it'll be above the fold, dead center on Page One. At the same time any followup on the items I've already mentioned just MIGHT get some play on page ten.

While this goes on, the public in general will become more restless, they'll know theres more happening as they see or hear of riots in their area taking place. I'm not talking strictly about racial problems either. More and more discontent will grow and when the time is right and the powers that be feel they can do it, we'll see a nationwide crackdown on dissent. Suddenly the country's unrest will be acknowledged as our "fearless leaders" step up to the plate to address it. They'll declare martial law, impose curfews, silence all social media. Our nation will be in lockdown mode.

After that things start getting bad.

May God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.

Children as agents of the State...

Well it wasn't enough that some schools had their children actually singing the praises of Obama: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/24/review-ordered-video-showing-students-singing-praises-president-obama/ . Nope, no reason to stop there.

Now we have school kids being indoctrinated to shill for government programs: http://news.investors.com/politics-andrew-malcolm/062813-661774-los-angeles-schools-teach-students-to-enroll-parents-in-obamacare.htm

So the next logical step would be for the little darlings to monitor their parent's response to such tactics, noting when their family expresses skepticism or outright derision. All of that can be reported back to the school who will notify the appropriate authorities.

Who might those authorities be? Well anyone tasked with preventing child abuse or neglect and the expression of negative opinions regarding hallowed government programs would certainly indicate a large potential for abuse. We can't be too careful, remember this is all for the sake of the children.

Do you think these are tin foil hat type ruminations? I hope they are, I truly hope thats all they are.

God have mercy upon us all and may His will be done.

American Storm Troopers of the IRS

Keeping in mind the scrutiny brought upon various groups by the IRS, I'd recommend viewing this video: http://youtu.be/Z8mkqI_dVJg

Yep, the IRS in action. I noted the comment made at about the twelve minute mark as to how many of the agents involved were from all over the nation. Not only is this an example of our tax dollars at work, it highlights how these intimidating tactics can be effectively brought to bear upon a civilian population. Let's face it, anyone with ties to the local community is more likely to ease up a bit on the bullying. There's a connection there not present when you bring in outsiders.

So our well equipped, adequately armed IRS sends in their bully boys to intimidate John Q. Public. Please note this is the same IRS currently under fire for harassing various groups out of favor with the establishment. The same IRS who have taken part in the alleged massive ammo purchasing documented at various sites. Yeah, that IRS.

Are these attacks on small businesses a rehearsal for things to come? Will we see similar scenarios played out in other areas once Obamacare and it's IRS implementation kick in? Hey, how about the enforcement of that HHS mandate being contested by so many religious bodies and their followers? Imagine a raid similar to what was shown in the video taking place at the main offices of Hobby Lobby, or your local Catholic diocesan chancery offices. Here's another man's take on how the IRS will act at that time:  http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323734304578542981761557180.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_LEADTop

Do you think we'll see a letup in the next national elections? Au contraire, they are a long way away. A lot can happen before then, some of it to be used as justifying the suspension of those elections. Don't expect an outraged populace to rise up in it's wrath as the Constitution is tossed into the trash can, as evidence of the wide spread apathy across the land just look at how the scandals involving Benghazi, the IRS, the FBI monitoring the AP, the NSA bugging the snot out of everyone are all currently placed in the back pages of the local fishwrap as soon as possible. Do you hear a lot of outrage? I sure don't. If anything I hear a lot of justification for the government abuses of power now coming to light.

See you in the Chestnut Tree Cafe. God's will be done, may He have mercy upon us all.

Idiocy in Syria...

Now Obama feels  we should supply military support for Syrian rebels: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57589252/u.s.-syria-used-chemical-weapons-crossing-red-line/

We've no clear idea of the motivations for these rebels, they could be worse for the world (and us) than the present regime. Yet our current Chief Executive feels perfectly fine with supporting them.

Idiot!

How soon before we have Americans being killed over there? FWIW, the rebels are just as antisemitic as their opponents. THAT doesn't bode well for anyone.

How soon  before our soldiers who happen to be Jewish find themselves defending a group that very enthusiastically wishes they were dead?

UPDATE: Stories like this don't leave me with warm and fuzzies for those rebels: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2013/06/11/report-syrian-rebels-executed-a-14-year-old-boy-for-insulting-islam/

But I don't feel like a Viking!

Some of the commentary I run across that downplays the seriousness of (taking a deep breath so I can say it nonstop) the scandals of Benghazi, the IRS targeting conservative and religious groups, the FBI zeroing in on pro life entities, the NSA accessing phone records for the AP, the TSA being able to monitor truckers and other means of mass transit and the disclosure of "Operation Prism" seems to be summed up as "all is well, don't worry your little head about these things.". These are conservative sites and pundits that espouse this too.

It puts me in mind of this: http://youtu.be/d8IBnfkcrsM Just as the inhabitants of Hy-Brazil wanted to believe nothing had changed, that life would go on as before, so do too many folk who want to believe there is no rot in our current culture.

Come to think of it, I DID have a cousin named Eric. He wasn't a Viking either.

Find you, persecute you, prosecute you (if they don't just kill you). Welcome to what was once the USA.

Now I don't know what we can call this nation.

Here's the latest piece of the totalitarian jigsaw puzzle: http://www.forbes.com/sites/andygreenberg/2013/06/05/nsas-verizon-spying-order-specifically-targeted-americans-not-foreigners/

So lets review what we know has been going on while the MSM concentrated on who was coming or going on "American Idol", what some actress might have been doing with her boobs and other vitally important news.

We have a DHS who consider strict constructionists of Constitutional interpretation, veterans, pro life groups and other conservative entities as breeding grounds for right wing extremism: http://cdm16064.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/singleitem/collection/p266901coll4/id/3267/rec/3

The same DHS is arming itself to the teeth (along with the EPA and Social Security Administration): http://www.forbes.com/sites/ralphbenko/2013/03/11/1-6-billion-rounds-of-ammo-for-homeland-security-its-time-for-a-national-conversation/

In the interest of sanity and fairness, I'll note the reality of that last item is still being debated: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/04/04/The-Great-DHS-Ammunition-Stockpile-Myth

But we're also seeing the IRS targeting conservative political and religious groups (no hyperlink needed here).

The FBI is also in on the action as they question a national pregnancy center director: http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/fbi-terrorism-task-force-wants-to-question-national-crisis-pregnancy-center

Lest that last appear to be an anomaly, down in Dallas we've had a similar event recently: http://www.jillstanek.com/2012/07/obama-administrations-harassment-of-pro-lifers-gets-personal/

If the government can't get you via the IRS and FBI, theres always the EPA: http://townhall.com/tipsheet/erikajohnsen/2012/04/13/sackett_v_epa_the_battle_is_won_but_the_war_is_just_beginning and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sackett_v._Environmental_Protection_Agency

While the "good guys" won the battle in that case, the war continues. How may similar scenarios are played out where the defendants don't have the resources to fight Big Brother?

Even the military chaplains aren't exempt from government mandated thought control: http://spectator.org/archives/2013/01/09/muzzling-military-chaplains

Nor is the DOJ: http://townhall.com/columnists/toddstarnes/2013/05/28/doj-tells-employees-to-verbally-affirm-homosexuality-n1607910/page/full

Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated.

So where do we go from here? I sure don't know. But answering strictly for myself I'll say that raising my children in the right manner, no matter how difficult that is becoming, is my primary concern. Maybe it's just an attitude of denial but I DO NOT believe the current trend towards government sanctioned immorality and oppression will continue indefinitely. Something has to give way.

Maybe we're in store for a Biblical level butt whipping, we're certainly regressing to the level of Sodom & Gomorrah. Maybe we'll see a Great Awakening in this land before things decay further.

Perhaps it's only wishful thinking on my part. Perhaps we're doomed to become nothing more than a biped version of an ant colony. Maybe thoughts and hopes to the contrary are just an exercise of whistling past the graveyard.

I don't know. But for myself, I will not stop pushing for whats right. Call it quixotic, but really, what choice do any of us who believe in following Christ have? As we say in AA, "Fake it till you make it".

God's will be done, may He have mercy upon us all.

UPDATE: Looks like I should have waited a bit, seems the surveillance by Big Brother was more extensive than first believed: http://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/us-intelligence-mining-data-from-nine-us-internet-companies-in-broad-secret-program/2013/06/06/3a0c0da8-cebf-11e2-8845-d970ccb04497_story.html

What jerks my chain is the fact that they missed the Boston Marathon Bombers. If this was such a vitally necessary program, it should have been effective enough to catch those two yahoos. Instead it seems the focus is on Average John Q. Public. Couple that with the above mentioned stories AND one I forgot: http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/28/travel/tsa-vipr-passenger-train-searches and we've all the makings of a completely Orwellian society. We're there, all it takes now is an overt push to silence dissent and enforce groupthink.

See you in the Chestnut Tree Cafe, where we'll drink our Victory Gin and toast the health of Big Brother.

Government intimidation of pregnancy centers?

Here's the link: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/05/29/why-does-the-fbis-domestic-terrorism-task-force-want-to-talk-to-director-of-pro-life-pregnancy-center/

I'm reminded of the DHS memo of a few years back, this one: http://www.fas.org/irp/eprint/rightwing.pdf

Yep, you can't trust someone who leads an organization dedicated to pregnant mothers in need. Can't trust 'em at all. Because we all know unwanted babies are better dead and ground up in a garbage disposal than cared for and (hopefully) adopted by a couple who loves children.
