A Catholic who follows Rome & the Magisterium. I'm against gay "marriage", abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, human cloning. Altar girls, Communion in the hand, Eucharistic Ministers and "Protestant" music in the Church doesn't bother me at all. A proud American retired submarine sailor. Our borders should be secured with a 10 ft. high fence topped by concertina wire with minefields out to 20 yards on both sides and an additional 10 yards filled with warning signs outside of that Let's get energy independent NOW! Back Israel to the max, stop appeasing followers of the Pedophile Prophet. Pro 2nd Amendment, pro death penalty, Repeal all hate crime legislation. Back the police unless you'd rather call a hippie when everything hits the fan. Get government out of dealing with education, childhood obesity and the enviornment. Stop using the military for sociological experiments and if we're in a war don't micromanage their every move. Kill your television, limit time on the computer and pick up a book. Ferguson Rising.

So the grand jury refused to indict and now rioting is in progress, not just in Ferguson but in cities across the nation. Who'd a thunk it!

Seriously when I look at the morons caught on camera they seem to fall into one of two categories; A) Black and ready to destroy what they can't steal, all in the name of civil rights. B) White and incredibly stupid, not believing that given half a chance their black compadres of the moment would rape, rob and beat the shit out of them. But they've found a "cause" to promote so all is good.

Morons!

The hell of it is that we won't see an end soon. Look at how long the "Occupy" movement was allowed to drag on and they never really seemed to have any focus for their protests. The phony baloney justifications offered for the present riots will afford them a cover story for being allowed to destroy whatever city they're in. That will happen as long as the politicians, MSM and other fools give the "grievances" the sham of thoughtful consideration.

So stand by folks, we're going to get screwed for a very long time over the complete nonissue of a thug committing suicide by cop.

Just remember, if you don't agree you're either a racist or "Tom".

Brittany Maynard and the "right" to die.

She's brought the "right to die" argument onto the front burner for many folks. Paradoxically, by refusing to kill herself as originally planned she has become an asset for those of us who oppose suicide.

Who'd a thunk it?

May God forbid any one of us suffer from a long painful fatal illness, but IMHO there may be an obligation for such folks to live as long as reasonably possible so that others may actually benefit from their suffering.

I realize that last paragraph sounds like crap. Let me try to elaborate.

My three children all fall onto the autism spectrum. It sucks. I worry constantly about their future lives. Yet in dealing with them and their conditions I've had to change for the better. I've had to become more loving, patient, understanding and tougher in ways I'd not have ever conceived. It happens. Would the same have occurred if my three kids had all been "normal" (whatever in hell THAT is!)? I really can't say.

But their autism has forced me to grow.

So perhaps anyone with a condition like Miss Maynard's would unintentionally bring about similar changes in those close to her. Hell, I don't know. I'm just a fat old sub sailor with too much time on his hands and a computer to play with.

But I don't see anything positive about suicide. Period. It's just a bit too final for my tastes and denies any possibility of God's actions in our lives.

God's will be done, may He have mercy upon us all.

UPDATE: Evidently she's killed herself. May God have mercy on her soul.

Proponents of the "right to die" will undoubtedly cast her in a heroic role. Nuts. For some reason I'm reminded of the Gore Vidal novel, "Messiah" where the founder of a cult that glorifies death is killed off by his followers. Don't ask me why, its a thought that just drifted through my mind.

UPDATE 2: I realize now why that particular novel came to mind. In the final pages the founder of the cult changes his mind about dying. Since the perpetuation of the new religion depends on the founder's death, which provides a poster child for the cause, his followers very enthusiastically put him down. He becomes the face of the faith, similar to Christ on a crucifix.

In much the same manner the "right to die" crowd now have their poster child, i.e. a young, attractive, middle class white woman. Take away any of those attributes and the effectiveness of the PR campaign diminishes.

What is striking to me is the fact that just a few days ago Brittany Maynard had expressed a change of heart. How does one flip flop on such a serious decision; it isn't like she decided something trivial such as wearing the brown shoes instead of the black. I wonder if the advocates of euthanasia brought some pressure to bear on her? No, I don't think they actually put her down against her wishes. But I wonder if they began cajoling her to revert to the original pro-death stance she had. We'll probably never know.

In any event, the euthanasia crowd now has their poster child. Again, may God rest her soul.

On sending troops to fight Ebola...

Now what the hell good is THAT supposed to do?

Just wondering.

Thoughts on Ebola from a point 30 miles from Dallas, TX.

Yeah, that is about the distance the family and I live from Ebola Central. I hear North Dakota is lovely this time of year....

People here a scared shitless. That was the conclusion I came to recently. It's easy to understand when you remember that almost NOBODY in this country has first hand knowledge of how to deal with Ebola. All of the experts are in Third World shitholes right now, suited up in full hazmat gear as they walk the local streets. IMHO when anyone from the CDC, HHS, etc. make a statement to reassure the public, they're talking out their ass. So yeah, anyone with a lick of sense is paying close attention to whats going on.

Whats going to happen? Hell if I really know, I'm just an old retired submarine mechanic. But I think back to other diseases that came over here with the greatest of ease, diseases such as swine flu, avian flu, Asian flu, West Nile virus, etc. Nobody could come close to stopping their migration here, why should we believe it'll be different with Ebola? Look at how they've spread and lingered on. I mention flu type sicknesses because Ebola mimics flu, at least until you pass blood out of various orifices of your body.

But think back at how persistent and easily transmitted those diseases are. Then consider that Ebola has a mortality rate that is through the roof. Even in the Third World toilets that spawned the West Nile virus the death rate of it was nowhere near what we see with this latest scourge.

Nobody really knows shit. All the verbiage being spouted about keeping calm is just an attempt to secure the lid on the pressure cooker. That baby is going to blow soon and it won't be pretty.

Despite the prevalence of the disease, the African nations suffering from it don't have a tremendous failing of their infrastructure (what there is of it). So it isn't time to go completely prepper, fortify the home, stock up on survival gear, etc. When it starts hitting us hard the basic services will still be somewhat intact (remember, I'm only a retired sub sailor so my expertise is open to question).

The various other diseases I've mentioned are now spread worldwide. When Ebola really grows legs we're going to have a mortality rate rarely seen in recorded history. It'll hit every damned country in the world. Stand the fuck by, it's going to get really interesting.

God's will be done, may He have mercy on us all.

The VA, Ebola and me.

The family and I live about 35 miles northeast of Dallas. The wife works at the Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. If the name sounds familiar, thats where we now have a walk-in case of Ebola making the news. Maybe it shouldn't be "walk-in" as he was delivered by an ambulance, but he DID initially show up under his own steam at the ER few days prior to that.

Whatever.

FWIW, the wife works nowhere near where "Ebola Man" is now located. She's safe.

So as soon as the man is diagnosed it appeared that everyone in authority and his brother loudly proclaimed, "Nothing to fear, we got it. No problem. Don't be looking behind any curtains."

Yeah right.

One of the lessons learned over the past 62 years has been that when everyone starts saying, "No problem." there is a definite problem not being addressed.

So today I was scheduled to go to the Dallas VA for a followup visit with my doctor there. I cancelled it because I can easily visualize some guy sitting next to me in the waiting area as he shows all the outward signs of flu. Flu is what Ebola can be mistaken for until you start oozing blood out of every hole of your body. Got the picture?

I'll just sit things out here in my little farming community for the next few weeks. That should be long enough for whatever is going to happen to appear.

Did you hear they now have 100 people under surveillance for this disease that poses "no problem"?

Sometimes paranoiacs have a reason for their suspicions.

Killing babies; our tax dollars at work.

Here's the link: http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/deluge-of-criticism-after-abortion-funding-revealed-in-health-care-law-60333/

Okay, so now what? Shall I have the wife file her taxes separate from my own so when I flat refuse to pay there will be no repercussions on her?  Some time ago I quizzed a Dominican about this very topic, then it seemed more abstract than now. Anyway, his response was that my first responsibility was to my family and I would have to figure out for myself where to draw the line if push came to shove.

That reeducation camp is getting closer and closer. Let's make a date to meet at the Chestnut Tree Cafe when we get out.

Good Intentions, Bad Idea.

Here's the link: http://news.yahoo.com/u-help-train-people-spot-potential-violent-extremists-100338697.html

Yes, we need to ramp up our efforts to stop followers of the Pedophile Prophet from giving their version of "high and tight" to the necks of their enemies (which includes most of the Free World).

But this sort of thing can be turned to other uses too damned easily. Today they look for potential recruits for jihad, tomorrow it could be Tea Party members, fundamentalist Christians, you name it.

I actually LIKE the idea of living amongst nut cases that are one step short of certifiable, it reminds me of my days in the military. I DON'T like the idea of legislating political loyalty, morality or anything else. For example, if theres a problem with too many people accepting abortion then it's incumbent upon the prolife community to get the word out about the true nature of things. Legislation doesn't help, look at Prohibition, all it did was erode the idea of following unpopular laws.

Can't those damned fools in DC do anything right?

Autism and the MMR vaccine.

Over the past couple of days I've come across news stories detailing how yet another study conclusively proves a link between autism and aborted fetal cells used in vaccines, specifically the MMR for measles, mumps and rubella.

I WON'T link to those stories nor go into any more detail regarding their source. My gripe here is with the seemingly mindless acceptance by the prolife movement of them. When did independent thinking fall out of fashion?

The basic fact is NOBODY knows with any real certainty what the cause of autism is. There are a few possibilities but nothing definite.

Yet as regards this particular train of thought we're all to believe that some sinister conspiracy exists to cover up an undeniable link. Funny how often these stories come from entities that seem to have their own axe to grind or cause to promote.

Whatever.

The biggest thing to put my panties in a twist though are the all too frequent supporters of this theory that will triumphantly spout off about it. They always seem to stop just short of accusing parents of autistic children of neglecting the will of God and thereby suffering the well deserved consequences. It seems to be implied that "good" Catholics would never deign to stoop so low as to have their kids vaccinated in such a heinous manner. Oh, blow me why dontcha!

As the father of three (yeah, I said THREE) autistic kids it burns my ass when someone relegates my children to the status of mere pawns in some theological payback scheme.

God doesn't work that way, all autistic children deserve better and the smug fools who have never experienced life with autism should just STFU.

Okay, rant over. Thanks for your patience.

The USA vs. Sisters of the Poor.

Here's the link: http://www.lifenews.com/2014/09/09/obama-admin-renews-attempt-to-force-little-sisters-of-the-poor-to-obey-hhs-mandate/

Just MHO but I believe the Administration is waiting for a break in the ranks of the Faithful in regards to rejecting the HHS mandate. They sure to have been encouraged by the recent capitulation of Notre Dame http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/notre-dames-student-health-plan-will-cover-contraceptives-abortifacients/

So they're sure to keep on pushing until a sufficient number of  "Catholic" entities admit defeat that any objection will be seen as coming from a fringe group.

Next up will be the issue of gay "marriage".

The question can be asked "just what could any human gain in this"? That question could come from all sides of the debate. Call me a loon but it isn't human gain that is at issue here, Satan benefits when those speaking for the people of God are discredited. End of story.

Cardinal Dolan dances to the tune of the gay pipers.

So now openly gay groups will march in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in NYC. Here's the video link from Michael Voris on the topic. Normally I take whatever Voris says with a HUGE grain of salt but he's right on the money this time.
This parade will have Cardinal Dolan as it's grand marshal, perhaps someone should inform that ecclesiastical knucklehead that the Catechism speaks of our responsibility for the mortal sins of others when we praise or approve of them (Article 1868). By his continued participation in this public event Dopey Dolan is implicitly endorsing the gay lifestyle. He should remove himself from all association with the parade while it allows openly gay groups to march.
As I mentioned on another blog, at times like this I recall that when Henry VIII broke with Rome only one bishop (later cardinal) spoke out against him. That was St. John Fisher who was martyred for his troubles. There was a double butt ton of bishops in England who were of the “go along to get along” mentality, hoping that the troubles would all blow over. Subsequent persecutions under Henry’s daughter Elizabeth and other rulers proved the opposite. For the sake of historical accuracy I'll mention that Catholics had as much blood on their own hands when they would regain control of the nation for brief periods of time. The whole thing could have turned out differently if enough clerics grew a set of balls and told Henry to take a flying leap. They didn't and for those pewsitters unfortunate enough to be under the “care” of Fisher’s contemporaries life must have sucked on toast, there was probably a fair amount of time when they didn't know whether to shit or go blind as far as following Church teaching. Nevertheless a fair number were able to adhere to the Faith even unto death. Dolan’s recent actions prove we still have the same sort of Judas goats amongst us that kept quiet under the House of Tudor.

Laugh as you will, this is an example of our tax dollars at work. Is there nothing they can't micromanage? I'm eagerly waiting for instructions on how to wipe my butt in full compliance with the EPA.

Boy are we screwed.

My wife kicks some spine into me.

Our kids are back at school, starting today. When they got home I immediately came upon notes in all three backpacks detailing an "Ice Bucket Challenge" their school wants 100% participation in. Since theres some controversy about this ( http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=22369&repos=4&subrepos=2&searchid=1408858 ) I wanted to get the wife's input before deciding.

Oh. Boy.

A bit of background here. My better half is an RN who came upon her pro life views honestly, i.e. through her training she realized what abortion and everything associated with it entails, thus she's adamantly pro life.

So when I posed the "Whaddaya think?" question, her eyes starting glowing, teeth flashed, hands clenched. Not pretty.

Well, I've got my answer. So tonight I'll be typing up three responses for our kids to take to school. We'll decline to participate due to our religious beliefs and anyone who doesn't like it can take a flying leap at a rolling doughnut. These fools are going to fall short of their participation goal.

But I have to admit, it was her response that stiffened my resolve. It's just a bit embarrassing to admit but there ya go. The wife kept me on the straight and narrow.

What the hell, the school administration probably thinks I'm nuts already. Everyday while waiting to pick my kids up I routinely pray the rosary out in the foyer to the main entrance. It keeps me focused on something other than the gratuitous T&A floor show from some of the "moms". At times it's actually driven some folks away.

But that is another story.

Things I obsess about at oh dark thirty

So first out of the box comes a story about some kid getting busted for writing how he killed a dinosaur. What, is Fred Flintstone his principal? Here's the link: http://www.nbc12.com/story/26319685/cops-summerville-high-school-student-arrested-after-writing-threatening-message-on-assignment#.U_Sna8ZblaU.facebook

Please note this happened in South Carolina, not exactly known as a hotbed for liberal thinking.

There must be something in the water, lowering the national intelligence in all states. I'd like to say this story is an anomaly but we all know different. For example, theres another story about a kid in North Carolina getting in trouble for saying, "Bless You" when a classmate sneezed. Another story out of Tennessee about a middle school teacher having her class reenact the shooting in Ferguson, MO.

I see kids are no longer able to sell snacks at school since they don't meet the federal guidelines for healthy foods, hell in some schools they can't even bring them in to celebrate a birthday! This was brought about by legislation pushed by our dear First Lady. Who the hell elected her for anything anyway?

But the kids are getting well taught in how to place condoms on bananas. Life is all about priorities I guess.

I also see how an archbishop in Oklahoma is suing to stop a Black Mass using a consecrated Host. Lotsa luck your Excellency; I don't think it'll work. As has been noted by quite a few folks (many of them Protestants) discrimination against Catholics can count as the last allowed prejudice in our time.

Speaking of which, a couple who rent out their farm in New York for weddings and other events were successfully sued by a lesbian couple for not taking their business. Same old story, in this case we have a Catholic couple not wanting to seemingly endorse gay marriage. Funny thing, my copy of the Catechism bears them out. It doesn't matter though, they've got to pony up about 130 K plus attend diversity training/brainwashing/reeducation camp and pay for their employees to do the same. Right now they're weighing their options regarding appealing this crap. Thought crime will be stamped out no matter what and damn that pesky First Amendment!

Dear Leader has sent the nation's top cop to Ferguson. Upon arrival he immediately root smooched the black community, saying he basically felt their pain. I wonder if this nitwit knows he's a servant of ALL the people, not just those he chooses to suck up to prior to all the facts being known about an incident? Never mind, previous actions answer that question (dropping any action against the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation in Pennsylvania comes to mind).

As for the international front, Dear Leader is busily addressing all problems (ISIS, Iraq, Syria, Russia & Ukraine, Central American children swarming our borders, etc.) from the front seat of a golf cart. Maybe we should count our blessings, if he went back to D.C. he might actually try doing something and then we'd REALLY have problems. He spends so much time on the links I have to wonder if his old lady isn't cheating on him. Seen it happen before, a cat don't stray if it's fed at home and just how often are those two together?

As far as him sneaking under the sheets with some honey, I really can't see it. Not that he wouldn't, he's just too stupid to pull off any deception.

That leads to my closing thought; we don't have a Manchurian Candidate in the Oval Office, he isn't a closet Muslim setting us up for the next caliphate, nor intentionally trying to foment racial strife nor actively work in accordance with ANY hidden agenda. Dear Leader is just a dumbass. Period. I don't think he could pour piss out of a boot without instructions on his teleprompter.

But if you want to see real "stupid", remember that a majority of voters placed him in office twice. THATS where the real stupidity kicks in.

Maybe there is something in the water, I wonder how it got there. Now it's getting really late and I'm ready for beddy-bye. Hopefully the world is still here when I wake up.

Ferguson, illegal aliens, the New Black Panthers and whatever else comes to mind.

Am I the only one who notices how the Administration's allies (MSM) exerted themselves to keep Ferguson on the front burner until the last few days? Plus how this story came out shortly after it was noticed that by de facto amnesty on the part of the White House & Co., many blacks will find the job market even more hostile? That more than one group of prominent blacks was starting to complain about it? Several bloggers have pointed out the lack of coverage regarding black on black crime (Chicago for example) in favor of one selected incident in an obscure town of the Deep South. Gee, what a coincidence.

I think a lot of folks are getting played on this one. Now our Dear Leader will regain the support he may have lost in the black community due to our porous borders and their effect on the poorest of our nation.

As for the New Black Panthers and their presence, can anyone recall any time when these fools did more than pose for the cameras? Seriously, this ain't Huey Newton's gang of thugs. What we're seeing now are a bunch of self important blowhards allowed time on the camera. Kind of like the fools of "Occupy" only with braids. But they DO serve to ramp up the rhetoric at a time when keeping the Ferguson story front and center in the public eye works to the advantage of Dear Leader. Ergo nobody is even thinking of having their butts removed in order to bring some peace and quiet to the town.

The whole damned thing is cheap theater built upon a routine encounter by a dumb felon with the law. Honest, just how often is the same thing happening throughout our nation? C'mon, five gets you ten some dopes committed suicide by cop in several cities since this story hit the news. It happened with white crooks or black crooks, against white or black cops. But we ain't hearing die diddle squat because the realization of how pathetically common it is that stupid punks get themselves killed by the police would only quell the outrage being stoked by the MSM.

We still have two and a half years of this Administration, that's IF some crisis doesn't happen necessitating the imposition of martial law before January of 2017. I don't want to know how much worse things will get, but I believe we're going to find out. Our collective ass is grass and somebody is revving up a power mower.

God's will be done, may He have mercy on us all.

Questions regarding Ferguson.

So how long before other cities see muggings where the perps shout "This is for Mike Brown!" as they beat some innocent man or woman?

Things seemed to be calming down while the local police were in control. Still tense enough that you could probably smell it, but there actually was a letup of the looting. Then they brought in another commander, one who had grown up in Ferguson and just wanted to defuse things. The governor of the state has also gotten involved. Now it's Hell on Earth there, boy sure is a good thing they took the local cops (who knew the area and may have had a reason to act in a heavy handed manner) off the scene to ease the situation. How long before someone in authority says, "We really screwed that one up."? I won't be holding my breath.

Evidently the "gentle giant" who wouldn't even go out for football had no qualms about roughing up a store clerk while heisting some cigars. Some years ago I was told by a recovering addict that sweet, small cigars were the choice of crackheads, they'd sprinkle some drug on the cigar and light up. The number one choice of smoke was Swisher Sweets. Given that plus the out of character behavior of the deceased, I wonder what a toxicology report might show. Any guesses that we'll never see it?

This Christmas I may get the wife a CHL. Maybe Christmas should come early this year.

Just supposing....

I've been of the opinion that prior to January of 2017 our Fearless Leader will find a reason to impose martial law, suspend the results of any Presidential election recently held and crack down on all dissenters (that includes you and I).

So what if a large percentage of the American people soon said, "Enough is enough" in regards to the flood of illegal aliens coming across our southern border? What if they said, "Compassion be damned! Enforce the stinking laws!" and then began getting REALLY loud about it?

How about a riot or two? It wouldn't even need professional provocation to happen, there are plenty of people who feel strongly about showing charity to those officially deemed to flee increasing violence in Central America (though for the life of me I don't recall any news to that effect in the last few years). If this wouldn't pit one group of Americans against another, what would?

Then the tanks start rolling as the whole idea of posse comitatus is tossed. You can bet a fair number of our military would buy into the "save the children" meme, another portion would just want to restore order. Plus face it folks, the average sailor, marine, dogface, flyboy doesn't stay any more well informed than his civilian counterpart. Sorry, the ideal of a military consisting of uber patriots toting around a copy of the Constitution in his/her seabag or duffel bag is fantasy. If it does they must all be riding unicorns too fast for us to see them.

Do I believe it's been the aim of this Administration all along as regards the flood of illegals? No. But I do believe when our Chief Executive promised to transform America he wasn't just whistling "Dixie". I do believe he and his crew have been hoping for something to explode in the fashion I described, that maybe they've been rattling so many cages all along was in the hope of riling up enough citizens to justify martial law. Maybe. It isn't something I'd bet the farm on but I DO give it serious thought.

So tell me I'm wrong. Tell me I spend too much time thinking thoughts of a tinfoil hat quality. Please do, because I REALLY would rather be as crazy as a shithouse rat than right.

God's will be done, may He have mercy on us all.

A few quick comments about the USA Catholic bishops and our Pope...

Because it seems they just can't stay out of the news; especially when they really should. Right now I'm thinking of topics such as the swarm of illegal aliens on our southern border, gun control, and feeding at the public trough.

THE BISHOPS: IMO is a bunch of ambitious, vain, self-important idiots who can be counted on to sit on the fence whenever possible, rarely come down on the side of the man in the street and almost always plant a big, wet, sloppy tongue in the rear of the Administration. This is normally done in concert via the USCCB but can be done individually.

THE POPE: Nice guy who should know when he should keep his mouth shut but seens too stupid to do so. The Holy Spirit must know we need a scourging; this time around we don't get Attila The Hun, we get Howdy-Doody.

Nope, ain't no conspiracy in play on the part of either party. Just a whole lot of dumbass, self interest and vanity.

Anyone who wishes to screech I owe them respect due to their position can forget it. In 22 years of military service I learned that is the cheapest form of "respect", one that more often than not is built upon the genuine accomplishments of better, wiser men than whoever may be the present target of conversation/condemnation. The idea of pygmies standing on the shoulders of giants comes to mind. So stick it where the sun don't shine.

For a more in depth but slightly different take on things, go to this lady's blog: http://adriennescatholiccorner.blogspot.com/2014/07/is-catholic-church-in-bed-with-obama.html

While I don't agree with a lot of what she says regarding the root cause, I believe the overall gist of things is dead on the money. Yep, we've been sold down the river by our bishops. Hang onto your rosary beads, the ride is going to get real interesting.

Questions about the illegals flooding across the border...

So one of the objections to this whole farce is the "catch and release" scenario that many claim gets played out, i.e. an illegal is brought in, processed and given a date to appear. Then he/she is released on the promise to do so. Big surprise, so many just hit the road and don't look back. Who'd a thunk it!

Why not start implanting GPS chips on them before their release? They're easy to install and pretty reliable from what I understand. Please don't cry of how inhumane it is and we're treating people like animals. Sorry but we give preventive medicine via injection to kids and animals, is there any shame attached to that or is it considered a good practice? It sure would help to locate Juan and Maria when they failed to show up for breaking our laws, it might even serve as a deterrent.

Here's another question, specifically about all the children now flooding in. How come so many folk are eager to have the little darlings united with their parents who are either here (illegally) already or are waiting to be ushered in because their kids have been made citizens? These children have been (supposedly) set loose to trek hundreds of miles into a strange land on their own. What kind of parents allow that? If I leave my kids in our car (even with the windows down) while running into the store for a gallon of milk, I'm likely to be talking to CPS real soon about my fitness as a father. Yet our bleeding hearts are ready to jump backwards through flaming hoops in efforts to reunite the families of illegals who have definitely placed their kids in harm's way. WTF? Am I the only one baffled by the lack of logic here?

Dear Lord, take me back through that wormhole I dropped into when I came to this bizarro universe, I wanna go home!
