I don't eat that much lettuce....
And I wash my own car and do my own yard work.
So why should I pay for these fools?
Once, being illiterate wasn't such a big deal and the need for formal education was relative to the time period. When I was growing up my old man always stressed the importance of finishing high school, he himself was a dropout. Nowadays the word "college" is always in my mind as I think of my kid's educations. If you don't have a hefty amount of formal learning you become a liability on society. Even in the field that used to be termed "handyman" I can tell you that building maintenance these days involves a fair amount of training. My own certification in this field is dependent on continuing education in everything from building construction to OSHA compliance and beyond. But that's a bit off topic.
So why intentionally shoot ourselves in the foot by taking in so many illiterates?
Besides the fact that a disproportionate amount of illegals wind up on the wrong side of the law. And too damned many just don't want to assimilate, they want to take over the country. No thanks.
Build the wall, mine the perimeter. That goes for the Canadian side also!
After that we should fine the batsnot out of anyone hiring illegals. Jail time might be good too!
Just my opinion.

It's all about building a class-based society, so that a Marxist communistic society can exist. And to a certain degree, it already does, but not legitimately. This will help it become legit.
I honestly doubt the deliberate intent to do that. But the final result will be the same.
With our unofficial "open borders" policy we'll be looking at socialism throughout the land in a few short years, especially if Madame Shrillary or Obama are elected. Then it won't matter if the intent was deliberate, the result will be the same.
