A bit about decent Muslims.

As I keep saying, there ARE decent Muslims in the world. Their "religion" may suck on toast but if they ever have their version of a Protestant Reformation it might improve. See here.

It might not be much in the overall scheme of things, but it's something.

We can't throw out the baby with the bathwater, although Islam in it's present form is lethal to our society there's always the possibility for change as long as there are decent Muslims. My son goes to preschool with a Muslim boy. At a recent Christmas (yes, it was a Christmas party and NOT a "holiday party") the boy's parents made certain he wished his classmates a Merry Christmas before they all went home. Now where I come from that's considered a nice gesture, no matter what.

I also recall when the War Department and I lived in an apartment and the upstairs neighbor came out frantic as hell one day when her toddler had cut himself. The War Department (she's going to smack me someday for calling her that) is an RN and ran out to help. After all the hoopdala had died down the woman made it a point to come to our place and thank the WD. Just common decency but you notice this no matter who does it.

So the decent folks exist in Islam. And it behooves us to never lose sight of that. Not for their sake, but for our own during these next several years as the threat of the Islamofacists continues to grow. How we perceive the Muslims will dictate our own behavior.

And we don't need to wake up some morning and find we've become what we detest due to our own zealotry.
