Bombs on a plane

Seems followers of the Pedophile Prophet were trying to blow up some Americans (again). Link here:
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/breaking-news/obama-confirms-explosives-found-on-plane/story-e6frf7jx-1225945418364

Watch this die a quiet death in the MSM. They'll note it and then move on to the latest story involving celebrity drug use/drunkenness/sexual excess. "Nothing to see here folks, let's not look behind that curtain."

If those packages came from Israel to be delivered to CAIR headquarters the story would never stop being played. But the Muslim masters of our government and MSM will have a cover up ordered asap. This would happen no matter what political party holds nominal control in our nation, when the followers of "Mo" yell "Jump" our politicians only ask "How high?"

It'll get a lot worse before it ever gets better.

Election jokes.

Normally at this time in an election cycle I post some smart assed remark along the lines of, "Vote early, vote often". Yeah, stupid joke but it seems to get some laughs.

Not this time. The stories are already pouring, no they're CASCADING in on the subject of voter fraud and illegalities. Here's a link to Michelle Malkin's take on it: http://www.cnsnews.com/commentary/article/left-s-voter-fraud-whitewash

It ain't funny, we're supposed to be a nation where that would be the exception instead of rapidly becoming the rule.

A very telling sign of our cultural decay.

If some troll comes by and remarks that it was worse under Bush that'll be yet another sign of it.

On voting in this election and in 2012.

I found this over at Divine Ripples. Definetly worth a read, especially for this election and the one in 2012:

Let's protect the vote. Watch out for fraud. Examples and anecdotes from J. Christian Adams

Commands to vote
I’ve seen election judges telling voters for whom to vote. In Philadelphia, I have repeatedly seen the people who sign you in and check off your name give instructions to voters for whom to vote. It isn’t supposed to work that way, and if you see it, get the name of the election official and report it to their boss. Better yet, try to get the name of the voter.

Mass illegal assistance
One of the most outrageous behaviors is campaigns of illegal assistance. I’ve seen lone soldiers of a political machine march dozens of voters into the booth and vote for them. In some instances the voter provided little or no input. Remember that disabled citizens have a right under federal law to have anyone assist them, as long as it is not an employer or union representative. Illiteracy and inability to speak English well also trigger this right. So just because someone is in the booth with a voter doesn’t mean something illegal is happening. But if you see van loads of voters being “voted” without expressing their own input, get the tag number of the van and remember what illegal assistant looked like.

Phony voters
I’ve watched people in states without voter ID seek to vote who were clearly not the people they said they were. During one election, I saw a young man give a name. It caused the women working the polls who knew him to laugh at him and tell him to stop fooling them. He insisted, even under watchful eyes, that he was this person everyone knew him not to be. Everyone was laughing, but the poll workers relented and reluctantly gave him a ballot, somewhat perturbed that he pushed the issue. For a brief moment, he was someone else. And since voter ID was not the law in this state, he voted a regular ballot.

Absentee ballot signature mismatches
In some states, there must be signature verification on the absentee ballots. Signatures of the voter must match with supposedly identical signatures. Some states even have a review process open to the public that allows scrutiny of the matching process. Pay attention. Hang out after the polls close and watch. Mississippi, for example, has a rigorous process where every absentee ballot must be reviewed and they are subject to challenge for defects. Even defects as small as a signature not being across a flap properly are potentially fatal defects.

Cash for votes
The last few years have seen numerous indictments for people being paid to vote. In one southwestern Virginia county, it wasn’t even cash. Instead, votes were being bought for pork rinds. Whatever the payout, it is illegal to pay someone something to vote. If you see wads of bills around the election site, it is usually a problem. I once watched a woman keep the wad of cash in her bra. She pulled it out over and over throughout the day.

Loiterers
It most states, there are laws against just hanging out at the polls. Know your state law. In Texas, for example, nobody is allowed inside the polls or within a certain distance of the entrance if they are not voting. Video of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee potentially violating this law was shown on the internet in the last few days. Loiterers can be a sign of a bigger problem. If nothing else, election officials who fail to enforce rules against polling place loitering can hardly be counted on to enforce other important integrity safeguards. And loitering rules are an integrity safeguard.

Intimidation of poll watchers
Poll watchers serve an important role in our elections. They are eyes and ears that make sure illegal behavior is recorded. Naturally, the deployment of dozens of highly trained poll workers in Houston at every early voting site in Houston unsettled some. Law abiding citizens with pen and pad can do more to stop election fraud than anything else. It is no wonder incident after incident of intimidation was directed to the poll watchers. Poll watchers prevent voter fraud. No quarter should be given to those intimidating poll watchers. Get names, tag numbers, physical descriptions of the intimidators, and, if state law allows, video evidence.

Poll workers voting for voters
There are few things as nasty as election officials cranking their wishes into a machine instead of the voters. Remember, however, that voters can have anyone assist them, even going so far as to push the screen or buttons – even an election official. This is a right under Section 208 of the Voting Rights Act. Yet some states prohibit election officials from casting a ballot or pushing the screen for voters. This is an unresolved conflict in the law in some places. Either way, be aware when election officials are pushing ballots.

Software glitches
I am entirely unconvinced that the software on machines sometimes has candidate choices pre-marked. I believe this is an urban myth spawned by unfamiliarity with the machine inputs. Even Sasquatch may be more common. But I reserve the right to be wrong. Obviously if you encounter this, move slowly, don’t touch buttons, call for help, and then call Pajamas Media.

Counting errors
One of the worst ways to run an election is with paper ballots. We want to minimize the human inputs in our elections. Electronics are the way to go. When paper ballots are counted by humans, humans get to decide so many things — like which box is that “X” really in. Or, that isn’t an “X,” that’s a stray mark, so the “X” is really meant for this candidate. Get my point? Dishonest clerks can find lots of discretion in paper ballots. Lord over them while the count goes on, if the law allows.

Politicking inside the room
Another terrible behavior is when people are chatting, talking, or carrying on and telling others how to vote. A modern version of this is cell phones in the booth. In most states, one may not make calls on the phone while voting. Typically, down ballot contests see people break the law and chat — “Who should I vote for city council?” Sometimes they even call a friend. This is not allowed in most places and observers should alert election officials while it is happening.

Would you like to vote a straight party ticket?
Many places in America still see large amounts of straight party ticket voting. In places where this fading behavior is more common, election officials tend to improperly ask the question of voters getting assistance from the election official. In fact, I have never once heard the Republican version of this illegal behavior. “Would you like to vote a straight Republican Party ticket” are words I have never heard an election official improperly ask a voter. In fact, “Would you like to vote a straight Democratic Party ticket” is something being uttered all over Houston in early Texas voting right now. If you hear it happen, write down who said it, write down what you heard right after you heard it, and call election officials at the headquarters — then reach out to Pajamas Media.

Birth control is good public policy?

This just makes my jaw go bouncing off the keyboard:

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 26, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The president of Planned Parenthood has argued that the new federal health care reform ought to consider funding all contraception with taxpayer dollars because preventing new children leads to less government expense.

In an appearance on the Bill Press radio show, PP president Cecile Richards said that, although the costs of the federal health care bill already promise to skyrocket out of control, federal officials ought to consider covering birth control a priority because of the "cost savings" benefit of fewer children being born.

"I think it's important, Bill, to understand that unlike some other issues of cost, birth control is one of those issues that actually saves the government money," said Richards. "So an investment in covering birth control actually in the long run is a huge cost savings because women don't have children that they weren't planning on having and all the sort of attendant cost for unplanned pregnancy.

"So we actually feel that covering birth control is not only it's the right thing to do for women, it's good for women it's good for their health care, but it's frankly good public policy."

The remarks reflect sentiments aired by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi when prompted to justify the contraceptive funding in last year's massive stimulus bill. The speaker explained that preventing births "will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government."

Richards also touted artificial birth control as "the most normative medical care that exists in America," calling the push for its universal availability a "no-brainer."

Planned Parenthood and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recently launched a massive campaign, called "Birth Control Matters," to pressure the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to ensure that all prescription contraception is completely covered by health insurers under "preventive care."

Rita Diller, the national director of Stop Planned Parenthood International, indicated that the true reason for the abortion giant's campaign was not expanded contraceptive availability, but an expanded profit margin.

"In reality, birth control is already widely available to women and even young girls, on a sliding scale basis, so that those who cannot afford the dangerous steroidal pills can receive them at little or no cost," Diller told LifeSiteNews.com. Therefore, she said, covering all birth control as preventive care "will not increase its availability, but will dramatically increase Planned Parenthood’s profit margin, by not only requiring new private health plans to cover 100% of the cost, but also requiring state Medicaid programs to pay 100% of the cost for all Medicaid recipients."

Diller noted that, according to the testimony of former Planned Parenthood chief financial officer P. Victor Gonzalez, the organization purchases contraceptives "at rock bottom prices and resells it at up to 12 times its acquisition cost."

"If Medicaid is required to pay 100 percent of the price Planned Parenthood charges for prescription birth control, it will be laughing all the way to the bank, at our expense," she said.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has challenged Planned Parenthood's campaign, arguing that contraception and sterilization "prevent not a disease condition, but the healthy condition known as fertility." In addition, the bishops pointed out the possibly severe repercussions such a mandate would pose for conscientious health care providers, especially in the case of abortifacient "contraceptive" drugs such as ella and other emergency contraception.

If we're turning it into a "dollars and cents proposition" then consider that fewer children equals fewer workers, equals fewer taxes, equals fewer consumers. Great stuff if you're trying to pare down the human race. Despite the doom & gloom sayers who perennially shriek that we're running out of room/food/whatever, there has been no objective proof of too many people. Starvation in Third World countries is normally caused by either corrupt governments or warring neighbors.

MSM propaganda "proving" Islamophobia...

Found this via Lucianne.com, it's a story about two actors hired by ABC News to portray a Muslim customer refused service by a bakery clerk. It was done to gauge the reaction of bystanders; http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/WhatWouldYouDo/story?id=4339476&page=1

I've been through the Czech Stop. It's a fairly popular place that specializes in Czech cuisine. The kolaches are first rate.

IMO the MSM is bound and determined to prove "Islamophobia" runs rampant through America. This reminds me of the story from a few years ago where a couple of actors were hired by the MSM to dress as Muslims and attend a NASCAR event. Again, the aim was to judge the amount of prejudice they experienced. Their efforts netted them zip. Nobody at the supposed redneck version of High Mass gave a rip. The story died a quiet death. After all, who wants to read about the existence of tolerance in a group of those assumed to be mere trailer park white trash?

So in this scenario a major portion of bystanders did zip and a number approved of the "clerk's" bigotry. Oh, the horror.

Big. Stinking.Deal.

Look, apathy unfortunately abounds throughout the world and not just in America. Let's see the same MSM crew return next week, only this time let the "customer" be in a USMC uniform and the "clerk" deny service while ranting against the military. Would there be approval from some customers? I'd bet my next retirement check on it. Would there be a fair amount of apathy exhibited? Same bet applies. The percentages would be vastly lower (this is Texas we're talking about) but it would STILL happen!

Yes, there are plenty of folk expressing something less than approval of Islam in America. Big surprise. Maybe it would have something to do with items such as the Muslim world dancing in the street when 9/11/01 occurred. Or with the idea of a mosque at Ground Zero. Or the actions of the Ft. Hood Shooter (in Texas, the same state as this bakery). Or the Christmas underwear bomber. Or any other news item involving Muslims that has been conveniently swept under the rug as soon as our PC elites could manage it. DUH!

Take any minority group as defined by race, religion, career and you would get the same thing. I'm NOT defending it! I AM putting it into a different perspective than that of the news story. It's stories such as this that are used to justify bending over backwards every time some follower of the Pedophile Prophet decides to take out some infidels. Stories such as this that help paint opponents of the Ground Zero Mosque as hate-filled bigots. Stories such as this that help justify the silencing of journalists who speak the truth about gut checks around men in Muslim garb (hello Juan Williams).

It's propaganda Goebbels would be proud of. End of story.

Discriminating for a roommate...

Here's the story, found at www.foxnews.com;

A civil rights complaint has been filed against a woman in Grand Rapids, Mich., who posted an advertisement at her church last July seeking a Christian roommate.

The ad "expresses an illegal preference for a Christian roommate, thus excluding people of other faiths,” according to the complaint filed by the Fair Housing Center of West Michigan.

"It's a violation to make, print or publish a discriminatory statement," Executive Director Nancy Haynes told Fox News. "There are no exemptions to that."

Haynes said the unnamed 31-year-old woman’s case was turned over to the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. Depending on the outcome of the case, she said, the woman could face several hundreds of dollars in fines and “fair housing training so it doesn’t happen again.”

Harold Core, director of public affairs with the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, told the Grand Rapids Press that the Fair Housing Act prevents people from publishing an advertisement stating their preference of religion, race or handicap with respect to the sale or rental of a dwelling.

"It's really difficult to say at this point what could potentially happen," he told the newspaper, noting that there are exemptions in the law for gender when there is a shared living space.

But Joel Oster, an attorney with the Alliance Defense Fund, which is representing the woman free of charge, describes the case as "outrageous."

"Clearly this woman has a right to pick and choose who she wants to live with," he said.

"Christians shouldn't live in fear of being punished by the government for being Christians. It is completely absurd to try to penalize a single Christian woman for privately seeking a Christian roommate at church -- an obviously legal and constitutionally protected activity."

Haynes said the person who filed the initial complaint saw the ad on the church bulletin board and contacted the local fair housing organization.

The ad included the words, "Christian roommate wanted," along with the woman's contact information. Had the ad not included the word "Christian," Haynes said, it would not have been illegal.

"If you read it and you were not Christian, would you not feel welcome to rent there?" Haynes asked.

Oster said he hopes the case will eventually be dropped and that he's sent a letter to the state asking the authorities to dismiss the case as groundless.

"The First Amendment guarantees us Freedom of Religion," he said. "And we have the right to live with someone of the same faith. The Michigan Department of Civil Rights is denying her rights by pursuing this complaint."

But Haynes said officials plan on pursuing the matter.

"We want to make sure it doesn't happen again," she said.

(End of story. My comments follow.)

This is how our freedoms are being removed. It isn't part of any tinfoil hat type conspiracy. It's the outcome of an increasingly intrusive, secularist culture. Other examples of this can be found in the recent story about a New Hampshire man separated from his kids because (in part) of his membership in The Oathkeepers. It's found in the story of the Methodist Church in New Jersey that was forced to rent to gay couples wanting to use their facility for "marriage" ceremonies. It was a part and parcel of the story from New Mexico where a photographer was sued by a gay couple because her religious faith forbade photographing their "wedding". It's shown in Missouri where the Missouri Information Analysis Center issued documents purported to help identify "domestic terrorists". What was issued to the law enforcement community of the State of Missouri were guidelines, under state auspices, that told police to look for domestic terrorists who were "concerned about unemployment, taxes, illegal immigration, gangs, border security, the high cost of living, gun restrictions, the IRS, the Federal Reserve..." among other things. They were also told to look at people who liked "gun shows, short wave radios, combat movies, movies with white male heroes, Tom Clancy Novels...Ron Paul, Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin". (H/T to the Ignorant Redneck from whose post linked here I cut and pasted a major portion of the last example. For a great post on this topic I would recommend going there).

Do I need to remind anyone of the memo sent by the Dept. of Homeland Security regarding "right wing extremists" and the personnel who were most likely to provide recruits (veterans, 2ND Amendment supporters, believers in limited government, pro life believers)? They're not a local/state entity but this example does showcase how high the mindset goes.

And the beat goes on....

As the FBI identifies pro life organizations as prone to violence, as every incident of Islamic atrocity is met with denial and reluctance to accurately name the perpetrators (remember how the DC Beltway Sniper was originally profiled as a white male in a van?).

As even taxpayer funded NPR shows it's true color by firing Juan Williams for expressing his fears during a stint on another network's broadcast.

We're being slowly suffocated by the fools with a nickel's worth of authority who feel they're carrying Fort Knox in their pockets. Fools who will take any piece of legislation that remotely justifies their pet cause and implement it against John & Joan Q. Public.

This has to be fought. It won't be easily won in the elections now or 2012. The mindset is rampant throughout our culture and continues expanding no matter what party is in power. It covers any area deemed by our PC trendsetters to need remediation and correction. Once such an area is identified and defined, the apparatchiks go into action and hammer out the details on skulls of the innocent.

We're not on the verge of losing our freedoms, they're gone and that is proven every time some hapless schmuck is caught in the cross hairs of a bureaucrat with an agenda.

This is best fought by being vocal about our beliefs whenever we're in the public eye. Wear a button supporting your favorite clause, as a Catholic I wear one that says, "Catholic and proud" so everyone is placed on notice that yep, we're here in North Texas and not just in the Hispanic community. Let some butthead question my "right" to wear it in any environment and at the very least I'll attempt to drive them to distraction by asking "why" in the same manner as a two year old.

Write letters to the editor of the local fishwrap right up to the point where their staff knows your return address by heart. Let them know your beliefs and opinions, why should those of us who hold traditional Judeo-Christian values stay silent while every wingnut with a pen or keyboard is churning out their tripe?

Blog to your heart's content about what you believe. One of the greatest benefits of the blogoshpere, IMHO, has been the discovery of so many like minded individuals. Sure are a lot of us once we start speaking up. And our voices ARE noted! A few years ago I tracked a visitor back to their "green" website where I discovered my blog was cited as an example of global warming denial. Who'd a thunk it for a small POS blog authored by an opinionated turdchaser?

When the bastards start nitpicking at your liberties don't just "go along to get along". Make sure they've GOT a reason for any information they're asking for. That should go right across the board, at the DMV, the supermarket, any organization no matter if it's public or private. They should be able to justify their stinking personal questions or learn what MYOB means.

Because we've a long way to go to make the current reality of our freedoms fall into line with our desires. The current culture is seeing us fast approaching the point of critical mass, where we'll wake up one morning to find select groups that have fallen out of favor with the PC crowd to be actively hounded and persecuted. I truly believe that is in the cards.

As an example of what plays out here in North Texas, I picked up my five year old from kindergarten the other day. During a conversation with his teacher I was informed that the day's activities included learning of the dangers from tobacco smoke.

I'm still digesting that. Yes, cigarette smoking is unhealthy and won't be tolerated in my home. But I've several acquaintances who DO smoke, as is their right. So what happens when little Johnny has spent the last several hours in school learning how smoking effects one's physical health, then he comes home in time to see "Mom" or "Grandma" light up? What effect does it have on the child? On his perception of his parents?

This isn't an idle speculation. While going through Catholic elementary school in the 50's-60's I was fervently lectured by a few lay teachers on the probable fate of nonbelievers (Hell and they deserved it!). My mother has been a lifelong atheist/agnostic with no desire for conversion. As a kid it hit square me square in the bullseye when someone spoke of the "sinful atheists".

Since cigarette smoking has become the primary mortal sin of our time, I have the thoughts already expressed regarding Johnny and his family.

Once again, it doesn't take a grand cabal working behind the scenes. It just takes a prevailing mindset in our culture.

A mindset of "You're guilty till proven innocent and I'm damned will going to subject you to my personal Spanish Inquisition to prove it."

If you don't believe that, just try advertising for a Christian roommate. Let me know how it works out for you.

UPDATE: As a further example of idiots armed with authority who push their personal agenda, check this out: http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9J12LLG0&show_article=1

We're talking about children running a seasonal pumpkin stand under their parent's supervision for crying out loud. Where does it end?

Logical products of the "Culture of Death"...

Here's the story about the inventor of the "Bodyworks" exhibits. If you're unfamiliar with the term (lucky you) click on this hyperlink: http://www.thelocal.de/society/20101021-30653.html
Found it via CatholicCulture.com

It's a logical outcome from the decreasing value of human life we see. If life itself means next to zip (and when you have a fair amount of folk arguing it isn't of any more value than that of an animal, you're damned close to "zip")then the vessel of that life loses value also.

I remember being taught to take care when walking in a graveyard not to step on any graves. This wasn't because of some horror flick scenario where a teen gets grabbed by a skeletal hand shooting out of the ground, it was from an attitude of respect for the dead. Respect driven by a knowledge that we'll all be there someday. Not much of that these days.

The linked article is an extreme example, for other results from devaluing human life we've only to look around a bit.

Pornography? What can be more debasing than to allow your body to be used as a toy? Yet the porn "industry" now enjoys an unheard of measure of respectability as "just another lifestyle". My oldest son, while conversing with me a few years back after a silence of 3-4 years, made reference to "adult entertainment workers". I was ready to hurl and corrected him on THAT one PDQ! Even folk with no reason to engage in this filth seek it out now. Recently the daughter of Laurence Fishburne floored "Dad" by telling him she'd signed a contract to star in porn flicks. She claimed it as her life's ambition. Anyone else feeling slightly nauseous on that one?

Dress for children/preteens/tweens/teens? Glenn Beck either coined the term "prostitots" or appropriated it. It fits. Seen any of the outfits for toddler girls lately? Having "HOTTIE" plastered across the butt isn't uncommon. Personally I prefer my child to think of her own potential in other terms. As for the older kids, just take a walk thru any high school. It's like hitting the local "strip" in a sailor town on payday night.

Speaking of high schools and how things have changed over the years, some time ago I held a temp position as building engineer at one. As part of the job I had to replace a thermostat in the girl's locker room. I went there, shouted "Maintenance coming in" several times and got silence as an answer (and the wife will affirm that when I shout, I'm LOUD!) As I walked in I spied a 16-17 year old buck naked girl drying herself off in the shower. As I beat feet out the door I say, "Miss, I called into here and maybe you didn't hear it." Her response? "That's okay, c'mon in cause I don't mind." My parting words over the shoulder were, "You might not but I sure do!" Yes Virginia, things certainly have changed for the worse over the years.

Video games? I remember back in the 80's there was a real furor over an arcade game where the player simulated driving down a road and could run over numerous pedestrians. That was the goal of the sucker too! Didn't last too long back then. Just check out the latest incarnations of "Grand Theft Auto" to see where we're at now.

I could go on. But I hit the point of redundancy long before this.

What's the point?

Aside from rhetorically asking, "What the hell else did we think would happen when Roe v. Wade was recognized as de facto law and sex became more about recreation than procreation", I DO actually have a point!

Many of the prolife movement are feeling relieved about progress made in diminishing abortions, abortion mills, etc. Sorry folks, we may be slowly winning that battle but we're getting our asses quickly handed to us in the overall war.

If those of us who support traditional values concerning human life, it's presence now and in the hereafter, the abode it has on this temporal plane and the reverence due the female part of our race REALLY want to make a difference then we have a long way to go.

That means we've got to become more vocal against the practices I spoke of and many not mentioned. It's got to be a 24/7 attitude, not something to leave at the door of our houses of worship or homes. We've got to become a real pain in the ass to the culture in general. And that means resigning ourselves to "oddball" status for this life.

Maybe if enough of us do that we'll effect a change inside of 50-100 years. In the meantime a lot of prayer, penance and sacrifice are in order.

Thanks for listening.

On the elections and their aftermath...

I see a lot of optimism about the upcoming elections in a few weeks, also for the ones in 2012. Without a doubt there's a-gonna be a rumble in the jungle as the chains come off Chang The Conservative.

But I don't see a whole lot of recognition that there's going to be a backlash. The liberal Dems won't go easily into that good night. They'll fight tooth and nail, whenever there's a chance for a recount they'll call it. The fun won't stop there either.

Politics has no civility now. So look for more voter intimidation going on at the polls, look for lost ballots, "discovered" ballots, misplaced ballots, etc. Look for a breakdown of voting machines, ten thousand votes from a town of five thousand, lots of names on the registration rolls traced to obituaries.

After the night of Nov. 2nd we can expect a lot of unrest, to put it mildly. The liberal fear mongers and demagogues will be out in force and won't fade away quickly.

That's just what'll happen after Nov. 2nd of this year. Come 2012 it'll get a lot worse, a lot more intense.

When B.O. was elected I had my wife take a gun to work for the first couple of weeks. Call it tinfoil hat thinking, but there it was. My family, my responsibility, end of story. I'd heard enough hate filled rhetoric leading up to the election and haven't lived in a choir loft for most of my life.

Nothing happened. I was as wrong as a football bat.

But in coming days I'll be keeping an eye on the news, listening to the radio and scouring the web. Because these are strange times, that isn't just my opinion either. Maybe she'll be taking that gun to work again. I'd rather be a fool for overreacting than a fool weeping by a grave.

I've heard from other bloggers and acquaintances how they fear for the future. They often sound a common theme, i.e. Christians in general and Catholics in particular are in the cross hairs of history. A few of these individuals are extremely intelligent, as an example one holds a doctorate in philosophy and speaks three languages (no they're not English, Bad English and Horrible English either). So not every one I deal with is a Neanderthal.

So for now, I'm just keeping my eyes and ears open while I pray a lot more.

When B.O. was elected my biggest fear was of what he'd do to this nation. So far he's been the most polarizing influence I've seen in decades. So the fear is well founded.

Now my fear is for what might happen in coming days. Funny how becoming a family man can suck your spine out. I used to be told I was nuts for taking midnight walks where I lived in Connecticut. The ones telling me that were all recovering addicts/alcoholics. Not exactly a bunch of pansies, some of them had done serious time in the state pens. There were also other incidents that earned me the reputation of being crazy as an outhouse rat.

But now I fear for my family and their future.

We've the curse of living in interesting times. Stand by.

On Christine O'Donnell and playing politics to win...

Today as I came home from the store I'm listening to Michael Medved who is opining on the latest debate shown between Christine O'Donnell and Mike Coots for the Senate seat in Delaware.

I like listening to Medved, he's a common sense type who doesn't engage in too much ridicule for it's own sake when speaking of his ideological opponents. There's some invective but not as much as say, Michael Savage. Medved is pretty mellow, comparatively speaking.

So he's taking O'Donnell apart for her less than polished performance. Evidently she uttered a few gaffes, laid herself open to ridicule by talking heads of the liberal MSM. Medved was fairly disgusted, saying he agreed with her answers in principle but they were in no way helping her campaign. He feels she's already lost.

FWIW, I'm sick and tired of politicians who take the safe, "middle-of-the-road" approach. I want whoever is in office to be blunt, honest and holding nothing back for the sake of expediency.

I want someone who calls a spade a spade. End of story.

So maybe the woman is as dumb as a box of rocks. Maybe the people of Delaware will run from her like six year olds from a peer with "cooties". Maybe it'll be deserved.

But right now, based solely on her unvarnished, truthful comments I'm hoping for a landslide win. Just to cause the talking heads on both sides of the aisle to STFU. Just to prove that a fair amount of folk want honesty before political "nuance".

So if that makes me a Neanderthal, well now everyone will say my avatar fits me.

Screw it.

Where does she keep the batteries?

On second thought, we might not want to know the answer to that question.

Hey cookie, what's that smell?

Five gets you ten this law firm is loaded with tree hugging vegans: http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/local/Prestigious-law-firm-sues-burger-joint-over-smell-1214765-104991844.html

I mean really, c'mon. The article cites "health risks" from the eatery, just what kind of health risks are posed by cooking smells? If that were the case there would be bodies stacked like firewood near any Indian restaurant (Disclaimer time: I can't stand the smell of curry!).

The worst cooking smell I've endured happened while in the Navy. We were underway and submerged when the cook fired up the deep fat fryer for lunch. It was supposed to be fried chicken, he was running late so the solution picked was to crank the heat up until the oil was smoking and then dump the still frozen meat in. I'm not kidding, that is exactly what he did.

Anyway, the fumes made their way through the ventilation system PDQ. My first indication of it was an uncontrollable watering of my eyes. That was immediately followed by a shipwide announcement to prepare to ventilate the boat as we ascended towards the surface.

To cut a long story short, lunch that day consisted of cold cuts and chips.

That cook was immediately put on duty as night baker. For some reason a fair number of folk who would otherwise burn boiling water turn out to be decent bakers. That was the case here, he could make some awesome sticky buns. Otherwise his future in culinary arts was doubtful.

But back to the main story. With the increasingly aggressive attitudes of those preaching "healthy lifestyles" I've no doubt we'll see more such idiocy in coming years.

Now excuse me, I've gotta go bake a cake.

Abortion: No retreat, no surrender, no "truce"...

The following was taken from the Priests For Life website:

Fr. Frank Pavone
National Director, Priests for Life
The Washington Times - Washington, DC
Thursday, October 14, 2010

It is dismaying to hear some pro-life politicians calling for a "truce" on social issues like abortion - possible White House contenders Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour among them. Their suggestion is that it's more important to do whatever is necessary to get elected than to worry about issues that appear to be intractable.

This tactic is akin to the pro-life and pro-abortion movements agreeing to disagree, an option often considered a reasonable one. It does not require that either side change its views, but simply agrees to allow the different views, and the practices that flow from them.

Sorry, but this is a proposal we in the pro-life movement can't accept. There can be no truce.

First of all, to ask us to "agree to disagree" about abortion is to ask us to change our position on it. Why do we disagree in the first place? When we oppose abortion, we disagree with the notion that it is even negotiable. We do not only claim that we cannot practice abortion, but that nobody can practice it, precisely because it violates the most fundamental human right, the right to life. To "agree to disagree" means that we no longer see abortion for what it is - a violation of a right so fundamental that disagreement cannot be allowed to tamper with it.

To "agree to disagree" is to foster the notion that the baby is a baby only if the mother thinks it is, that the child has value only if the mother says it does and that we have responsibility only for those we choose to have responsibility for.

Certainly, there are many disputes in our nation about which we can "agree to disagree." Various proposals, programs and strategies can be debated as we try to figure out how best to secure people's rights. But these legitimate areas of disagreement relate to how to secure people's rights, whereas the abortion controversy is about whether to secure or even recognize those rights at all. We can agree to disagree whether certain government programs should be allowed, but not whether acts of violence should be allowed. "Agree to disagree" seems like a neutral posture to assume, but it neutralizes what can never be neutral; namely, the right to life.

Furthermore, the abortion dispute is not merely about conceptual disagreement - it's about justice. It's about violence, bloodshed and victims who need to be defended. In the midst of a policy permitting thousands of babies a day to be killed, to "agree to disagree" means to cease to defend the absolute rights of these victims.

We don't fight oppression by "agreeing to disagree" with the oppressor. It is precisely when the oppressor disagrees that we have to intervene to stop the violence. The fact that the oppressor does not recognize the victim as a person does not remove our obligation to the victim. In the face of injustice, we are not simply called to disagree with it, but to stop it.

Worse even than the notion of agreeing to disagree is the suggestion that abortion is irrelevant as an issue in the 2010 elections because it is "settled law." No issue is less settled than abortion. More importantly, America's courts and legislatures have a history of changing "settled law."

Dred Scott v. Sandford (1856) is the most commonly cited instance. The slaveholder's right to property eclipsed and subsumed the slave's right to freedom. But the Constitution eventually was amended to correct the error.

Decisions like Lochner v. New York (1905) show us another error: Employers' right to contract eclipsed and subsumed the workers' rights to humane conditions and hours. These abuses were corrected by subsequent Supreme Court decisions like Muller v. Oregon and Bunting v. Oregon.

The "separate but equal" doctrine of Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) sanctioning segregation was overturned by Brown v. Board of Education some 58 years later.

Erroneous decisions like Hammer v. Dagenhart (1918) institutionalized child labor. But this was overturned 23 years later by United States v. Darby. A new development - a "pedagogical moment" - occurred here in constitutional law. The question was whether constitutional rights applied to children, too. The answer was yes.

Many reversals of Supreme Court cases came about when new evidence made it clear that someone's rights, not previously recognized, were being violated. Thus, Louis Brandeis brought forward the facts about how workers were being harmed.

We are now witnessing the same trend regarding children in the womb. Evidence that has been around for quite some time demonstrating their humanity, and their inalienable right to life, is finding its way into legislatures and courts.

With hundreds of embryological studies, and massive evidence of the harm abortion does to women, such evidence, combined with new legal concepts, can challenge Roe v. Wade in the same way its erroneous ancestral decisions were challenged.

The day after Roe v. Wade was decided, the New York Times headline read, "Supreme Court settles abortion." It has remained the most unsettled issue on our national landscape.

(End of article. My comments follow.)

Of course he's correct. There can be absolutely no "truce" on this issue. You don't declare a truce with evil. It has to be fought in the most vigorous manner possible at all times.

In our present day "I'm okay, you're okay" culture that sort of thinking comes across as unnecessarily harsh and uncompromising, traits that are always unpleasant. But what else should be done? Abortion either ends a human life or it doesn't, end of story. From the moment of conception the mother carries a human being, not a "potential human" or blog of tissue or anything else. The DNA present is solely human, not a fish or frog or whatever else.

So if a human life is ended at the request of another human than the justification for it had better be pretty strong. If you don't believe thats accepted thinking then consider the ongoing debate over the death penalty, there also a human life is ended due to judgment rendered by others. Not just one person but several are involved in the initial verdict for execution, the appeals process takes up the time and judgment of many others before the sentence is carried out. Yet still there will be those protesting an execution right up to the time a needle gets put into the convicted felon. This illustrates how strong that justification has to be.

Abortion is likewise the termination of human life. Since there is no crime attributed to the baby there can be no penalty assigned to it for merely existing. But that is routinely the case where the pregnant woman decides she doesn't want to bear a child. Based solely on the mother's preferences a human being will have their life ended because they committed the "crime" of being conceived.

So nope, no truce possible. It's either evil or it isn't. If it isn't then what the hell is it?

Our national trench latrine (Hawaii)...

I was recently on another blog where I compared the state of Hawaii unfavorably to Berkley, CA. Evidently that got under the skin of a commenter from that state, we began an exchange which was briefly halted by my attending a retreat this past weekend. Now it continues.

Since I feel it's inconsiderate to conduct a "flame war" on someone else's site, I've invited "Scott" to come here to air his side. Don't know if he will, actually I kind of doubt it. But you never know.

Anyway, here's my take on Hawaii.

I was stationed there briefly back in '78-79 aboard the USS Omaha (SSN 692), the first 688 class boat to undergo PSA at the local shipyard. That took up the majority of my time there, about nine months total in the yard. My first wife and I lived out in the Pualoa housing development in the Ewa Beach area (Ewa is pronounced "Eh-vah" in Hawaiian). Pretty swank housing at the time, still fairly brand new and well maintained.

I'd say that 13 months I spent in Hawaii was about the longest decade of my life. A few examples of why follow:

1) Shortly after my own arrival a Swedish tourist made the mistake of going to the "wrong" beach at the north end of Oahu. For that she was gang raped, sodomized, etc. Overall the reaction as expressed in the Honolulu Advertiser and on the local radio stations was that "she must have been looking for it". I'm not talking about just one or two wingnuts voicing that opinion, I'd say at least half of the locals who spoke up cheerfully voiced it. Nice, huh?

2) Many of my shipmates who were married and had kids were forced to deal with a local tradition in the schools known as "Kill Haole Day" (haole being a derogatory term for whites from off the island). One neighbor woman who had been there a while related how a child was taken to Tripler Army Hospital with a busted head after a classmate met him with a 2x4 at the door. Supposedly the teachers did nothing to discourage this. Maybe it was the stuff of urban legend, I didn't have any kids in school at the time so I can't say for certain. But I know all the non Polynesian parents in the housing area kept their kids home on that day. It was also one of the main reasons I was so hellbent to leave after my daughter was born. No way my kid becomes someone else's punching bag just for the sake of it.

I'll also mention that the natives were equal opportunity bigots. Some of the black members of our crew discovered that when they tried frequenting the local discos.

3) The local shopping center in Ewa Beach was located across the road from a high school. This entire area was placed off limits to military personnel and their dependents from six at night until six in the morning for a period of about 2-3 months. This occurred after the dependent wives in a bowling league were routinely harassed by some of the little teenaged darlings. The local police did zip about it, it continued to the point where a pregnant wife was knocked on her ass by the boys. At that point the brass in charge of the Barbers Point area had enough (Barbers Point Naval Air Station being the facility with overall responsibility for military personnel in that area). So they placed it off limits until the locals could get their acts together. In my 22 years in the military I've seen a fair amount of establishments make the "Off Limits" list. This was unique, an entire strip mall/shopping center deemed too risky for military members and their dependents because of the constant shenanigans of youths and the apathy of the authorities. In the course of things the local news media interviewed several folk, I recall a youth smugly opining on camera that if the military didn't like what was going on "they should just go back to the mainland". Cute kid.

4) At the time the shopping center was placed off limits I warned my wife not to frequent the public transportation, feeling that these situations could easily escalate. Being pigheaded she ignored me. So when I came home one afternoon and she was being tearfully consoled by a friend it came as no surprise to me. She had ridden the bus just to get some air (the woman was an epileptic and couldn't drive). While aboard the bus a punk made her life hell by verbally harassing her, loudly offering to screw her like she'd never had it before and other expressions of affection. Although there were a fair amount of other passengers aboard the bus nobody did a thing. Nor did the driver. Another class act. She didn't ride the bus by herself after that one.

5) The original comment I made that riled Scott involved a comparison of Hawaii to Berkley, CA. Time to tell the truth, I've never been to Berkley. So maybe it would be the norm there for gay men to engage in public displays of affection with each other, just at it was in Wakiki. Maybe when you pull up to a traffic light you'll find yourself offered a toke from a joint in an adjoining car, just as happened to me when driving through Ewa Beach. Maybe there is a local red light district where it's rumored you can get anything for a price, just as Hotel Street in Honolulu was (although I've heard the authorities finally cleaned that toilet up). I didn't spend my military career in a choir loft, I'm familiar with red light districts. Hotel Street hit a new low for me.

I don't know, maybe Hawaii doesn't have more moonbats than Berkley. But from what I experienced I doubt they have less.

The incidents I recall are just a few of what happened in a relatively short period of time (13 mos.). With a gap of over 30 years I'm sure there has been some loss of both good and bad memories. Things may have changed too, I mentioned the local red light district got shut down. Who knows what other positive things may have happened? But every now and then I run into someone who reinforces my sentiments. Last year at a men's AA meeting I spoke with a man whose daughter gave up a full ride scholarship to the University of Hawaii. She originally went for it with the notion of learning in a tropical paradise, but it seems she got tired of seeing "Go Home, Haole Bitch" written on her dorm room door. So as of a year ago she was matriculating to a school in Oklahoma. I had to correct "Dad" as to the pronunciation of "haole", he was unfamiliar with the Aloha State. But he was definetly P.O.ed about how his little girl got treated.

To sum it up, I've no use for Hawaii. It's got a lot of beautiful scenery, the climate is ideal and the natives are mostly scum after you get them away from the tourist areas. The only contribution they've made to our popular culture is the muumuu, I'm sure lots of fat women are grateful for that. The state is our nation's version of a Third World toilet, once you move from the areas with money it seems everyone lives in a slum.

FWIW, even prior to our boat's move from Connecticut to the Aloha State an antipathy towards it was evident. One guy who had married a girl from there found himself getting divorced due in part to the fact she had no use for her home state. I'm talking about a native born, full blooded Polynesian woman with her family of origin still in the Islands, someone with real roots in the place and not some "happa-haole" (half-blooded white) girl who was the product of "mom's" dalliance with a mainlander. There were other factors driving their seperation but from what I was told her reluctance to "go home" figured prominently in the split. So even some of the natives can't stand the place and the people in it. There were also some crewmembers who did all they could to transfer off the boat prior to the move. They'd been in Hawaii already and were less than impressed. I'm voicing what is actually a common theme amongst military personnel who have been there. That theme can be expressed as, "Hawaii sucks on toast".

I'm sure my opinion doesn't amount to squat in the long run. The Hawaiian islands will continue to prosper off the tourist industry, military personnel stationed there will endure it until they can transfer out and malcontents like myself will be brushed off.

I can live with that, I don't plan on ever going back. My children won't experience getting mugged because they're of the wrong race, I don't get told to learn a pigdin version of English because the local populace is too lazy to learn what the rest of the nation has in the way of proper pronunciation and I'm not in the middle of a gay pride parade every time I go into Dallas. Anyone wanting my share of Hawaii can have it. I'll live and die here in Texas where I'll be known as the fat Yankee who robbed the local cradle for a beautiful lady to become his wife. Works for me.

So Scott, if you've come to this site just fire away in the comments. It'll make for interesting reading I'm sure.

President B.O. won't offer his opinion on this...

Why is it that our President feels called upon to offer his opinions when a university professor is busted by the local police (remember the beer summit after he opined the police "acted stupidly"?) but stays mum about an American citizen who has been murdered by Mexican drug cartel members on a Texas lake?

For those who don't know, the man's widow has publicly called upon B.O. to pressure the Mexican government for help in this affair. I guess he's too busy playing golf.

UPDATE: Seems nobody in the Federal government wants to get involved: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/10/13/falcon-lake-lawmaker-state-department-blissfully-silent-murder-probe/?test=latestnews

Somebody should remind those assholes they work for the people of the United States and that would include Hartley's widow.

UPDATE II: Here's some cold comfort for those who would think this was a gratuitous murder, evidently it was all about mistaken identity. Noted. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/chronicle/7246482.html

Thoughts on my past weekend.

I attended my first retreat this past weekend. The wife had strongly urged my participation, something along the lines of "Listen up, if you know what's good for you..." Who can say no to that?

It's all anonymous, so I can't go into details. But there are some things I noted that I'm able to share.

1) You don't know how attached to timepieces you are unless there are none available. We were told we'd be "on God's time" and to leave them at home.

2) Our pastor is a self-styled comedian. Prior to the special Saturday evening Mass for our group he stood on the altar and greeted everyone, stating that this Mass might be longer than the usual. Then he assured us it wouldn't matter since (as he shoots his arm out of his robes and holds HIS wristwatch high) "...it's only 7:30!" Funny guy.

3) I've got to work on my potty mouth. Really.

4) My wife spoils me. She bought this super wham-a-dyne air mattress for my use that blows up via an electric pump into the size of a regular mattress. I really felt guilty since the other four guys in the room either used the standard wafer thin air mattress we're all used to or brought an army cot with them. That guilt lasted until later that night when I had to go into another room to wake a man up. Both he and another guy had bigger air mattresses than I did. Ain't progress wonderful? Man, that mattress was comfy! And yes, my wife spoils me.

5) I guess most folks don't sleep too well at these things (the mattresses might be part of that). I slept like a babe, haven't had that much uninterrupted sleep in I don't know when. Not having small children climb into bed at oh-dark thirty might have played into it also.

6) I missed having small children climbing into my bed at oh-dark thirty.

7) Even men cry.

8) I didn't realize being 58 (in 9 more days if you're really picky) qualified me as "old". Bummer.

9) I actually like going to Mass. THAT one snuck up on me!

10) I've realized I've only one true fear these days, that I'll die before my children are comfortably independent. "Back in the day" I'd never have given anything like that a thought, would have figured when your time is up, it's up. Now I have that fear. Another bummer.

11) Prayer can be comforting.

Adventures in fatherhood...

So I returned Sunday evening from my weekend retreat, ready to jump back into the whole "Mr. Mom" routine.

Good thing, because on Monday my youngest son (5 yrs. old) and daughter (3 yrs. old) both had strong cases of diarrhea. We tried Immodium, no luck. So we determined they'd go to the doctor ASAP today.

That happened at 10:30. We were taken from the waiting area in the lobby at 11:00. At 11:30 my daughter tells me she's "wet". Uh-oh. Time to hightail it to the car for a change of clothing.

So we head back through the lobby, stopping only long enough to tell the receptionist we'd be back after a change. As we get halfway to the front door, another father with his family exclaims, "OH GOD!!"

I know what THAT can mean so I look down at my girl's leg. Sure enough, that telltale brown trickle is inching it's way past her knee. Doubletime troops, now!

We reach the car in time, the trickle has only gotten to within an inch of her sock top. Then I start looking in the diaper bag for wipes, training pants, etc.

Nothing there. Nada. Zippo. Just two training pants for her brother and some bottles of sun block. Lovely, just lovely.

I wipe her down as best I can with one of the training pants and her shirt top (there IS a complete set of clothing for her on the car floor, left over from last week). All the time I'm cursing the wife in my head for not keeping everything stocked just in case something like this might happen. "How the hell does she NOT keep wipes, spare training pants, etc. for when they're needed?" I righteously mutter to myself. DAMN!

The daughter is cleaned up, we meander back to the room we were in. The doctor shows up, takes in all the information, tells me it's a stomach virus thats been making the rounds and gives me instructions on what to do. I also get a prescription to be filled.

So out we go. Figuring I don't want to be smelling the filthy mess my kid's shirt and soiled training pants have become, I put them in the empty diaper bag and take them to the back of the car, opening the tailgate to toss 'em in.

But first I find I have to remove the backpack that sits in plain view.

The one my wife filled with wipes, spare training pants, etc. last week.

The same backpack that I had tossed into the car.

After she handed it to me with explicit emphasis on the need for it and everything it carried.

Yeah, THAT backpack!

(Sigh) On to the next adventure.

And I didn't see that other father when we went back inside, maybe he took off. Don't know why HE got grossed out, he only had to look at the mess, not clean it. Amateur!

Oathkeepers now in Big Brother's sights.

Well it now seems that any affiliation with groups opposed to whoever is in power provides grounds for taking your kids:
http://www.concordmonitor.com/article/219670/couple-state-took-our-baby

I'm sure there are plenty of legitimate reasons for the state to get involved with this guy's domestic problems. But listing his membership in the "Oathkeepers" is significant in that it shows the mindset that generated a memo from DHS regarding "rightwing extremists" and an FBI training session casting prolife groups as violent and dangerous is alive and well at ALL levels of government.

I've mentioned before that this would be a probable method of intimidation for those of us who believe in our freedoms and a responsibility to protect them. Look for more incidents such as this in the future, incidents that rely less on questionable behavior and more on membership in politically incorrect groups.

It's for reasons like this we have the 2nd Amendment. Cookie, Rev. Gregori and anyone else formally associated with the Oathkeepers, I hope you're watching your backs.

A weekend retreat...

Thats what I participated in a few days ago. Still digesting everything.

Just how sick & twisted are we anyway?

Let's start with the money quote concerning the Ground Zero Mosque, "Much or even most of the controversy…could have been avoided, and perhaps still can be, if the people who want to build the center were to simply say, 'We are dedicating this center to all the Muslims who were killed on 9/11,"

Uh-huh.

Kinda like building a Shinto Temple near the Arizona Memorial back in 1943 and then dedicating it to Hirohito.

Yeah, that works. For the rest of the story and an associated video click here: http://www.dnainfo.com/20100921/downtown/bill-clinton-endorses-muslim-center-near-ground-zero

What a sick, twisted bastard. Then again, this is the guy who bugged out of serving his country during Viet Nam, the guy who passed up having Osama Bin Laden taken out, need I go on?

Why is it our politicians are characterized by slimy shits like this guy, our military is typified by true men like this; http://bigpeace.com/pschweizer/2010/10/06/a-salute-take-a-few-minutes-please/ and the self-styled national elite would canonize the first and demonize the last?

We need to clean our cultural house, get rid of the two legged cockroaches for starters. We need to become worthy of the Staff Sgt. Millers of our nation.

Geezerdom approaches...

You know you're getting to be an old crank when watching a children's' animated movie you start thinking the young girls are inappropriately dressed with "pasties" covering their boobs.

And the movie is a Disney flick.

It's "Peter Pan".

From 1953.

And the young girls are the mermaids.

(Sigh) Time to go have my warm milk and take a nap. See ya.

Banana republics play "pig pile" on Arizona...

PHOENIX (AP) -- Mexico and 10 other Latin American countries want a federal appeals court to consider their viewpoints in Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's appeal of a ruling that put parts of her state's new immigration law on hold.

The countries are asking the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for permission to file so-called friend-of-the-court briefs in Brewer's appeal of the ruling, which arose from a lawsuit by the U.S. Justice Department.

The 11 countries say they have an interest in ensuring they have reliable relations with the United States that aren't frustrated by Arizona.

Mexico is joined in the request by Argentina, Boliva, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Peru.

Supporters of the law say it's intended to confront the state's vast illegal immigration woes that Washington is confronting adequately.

(End of story. My comments follow.)

Can someone tell me why these Third World toilets deserve to have a voice in the ongoing debate over Arizona's efforts to combat illegal aliens? They're a huge part of the problem, if their nations weren't so corrupt and run by such incompetents there would be no stampede to El Norte for a better life.

Seeing as how they're dealing with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, we can expect every one of these thugocracies to have a front row seat at the proceedings. All paid for courtesy of John & Joan Q. Public of course.

A new and sickening twist to outsourcing...

This is just disgusting. Found via First Things where the author sums it all up very nicely;

MUMBAI: The customs department seized a batch of frozen embryos three days ago, despatched from the US and meant to be implanted in Indian surrogates.

Two foreigners acting as couriers for the importer, Dr Hrishikesh Pai—an IVF consultant at Lilavati Hospital—were held. Pai insisted ICMR guidelines allowed such imports, but that the Customs Manual did not reflect this.

(End of story. My comments follow.)

So it goes with the Culture of Death, where human beings are increasingly treated as mere commodities. In this case both the mothers and the children they might bear become nothing more than "things" to be utilized.

I'll close by pointing out the obvious continued decline of valuing our fellow humans. It isn't stopping, it isn't slowing down. Those who see victories and a turnaround in our culture towards a greater appreciation of human life are deluded, overall we're getting worse. There may be the illusion of improvement, such as when polls show a decreasing support for abortion, but overall we're continuing to decay.

Grisly "green" commercial aired...

Honest to God, when I first stumbled across this monstrosity a couple of days ago I thought it had to be a joke. Evidently not, an awful lot of well balanced commenters have claimed it's the real deal and nobody, absolutely nobody involved with the thing is saying, "Hey, just kidding!"

Before viewing I'll warn you that it features the deliberate explosion of "non-green" victims. Bloody to the max. You're warned.

So here is what I take away from this trash, even though it's focused for an audience in the UK I we can bet we're swirling around the same bowl:

1) Violence in promotion of a liberal cause is becoming more acceptable. For an example in a different realm of our Culture of Death, check this out; http://www.ncregister.com/blog/abortionist-pulls-gun-on-pro-lifers

2) This will get zippo airplay by the MSM except to highlight how those who aren't "green" just can't take a joke. Noted.

3) In the meantime, as the rhetoric and actions of tree huggers everywhere starts heating up, we can look forward to hyperventilating hysteria coming from their mouthpieces who will be wailing of the violent killers of Gaia. Captain Planet, where are you?

4) Start checking your kid's homework from school for any strong push in this or any other liberal cause. Somebody is probably thinking, "Hey stupid, it's already in place and has been for years." Too true, but I'm talking about it really coming out of the shadows and ramping up big time.

5) As I've already alluded, this is part and parcel with what we recognize as the Culture of Death. A frigging snail in the Northwest woods has the same value as a human being. Even more value if that human is unborn.

Stand by, in coming years we'll be put into the crucible to be tested. God have mercy on us all.
