The Saudi/American symbiotic relationship
They might have the oil, we've got the guns.
I've been thinking for some time that our relation with the Saudis is more symbiotic that parasitic. We both get something out of it, who benefits more is determined by who is the most desperate for what the other has. When the Cold War was in full swing our Russian competitors were the major factor in having to appease the followers of the pedophile prophet by turning a blind eye to their actions. Thats no longer true.
While the Saudis might find other suppliers for their arsenals they wouldn't have the same quality as what we provide, nor would the trade agreements be as advantageous to the House of Saud. If we got off our collective ass and began developing alternative sources of oil to our present imports from the Middle East we'd be less dependent on them while their level of dependence on us would remain very high.
IMHO it's time for us to wake up and start dictating terms. These would include shutting off the money flow to mosques throughout the world, actively seeking out terrorists and their supporters within Saudi borders and coming to a more open and amiable relationship with the Israelis. Oh and while they're at it, start allowing churches to be built within Saudi territory and Christian missionaries to openly prosleytize. A big part of the Islamonazi problem is the existence of this monolithic theocracy, time to break the back of the mullahs. We can move on to Iran next.
Just the opinions of a retired turd chaser.

we had best move on to Iran...!..nice work keep up the good fight!
the person in any negotiation (from car sales to international policies) that has the MOST power is the one who is LEAST invested in the proceedings, ie the one who can most easily walk away.
Reminds me of when we bought our house.....
