Life is like a box of chocolates.... (what a stupid statement!)
Things are really getting exciting around my neck of the woods.
The War Department started having real strong & frequent contractions yesterday. We headed into the hospital and stuck around there for four hours only to be sent home. Her doctor wants to delay delivery as long as possible. He's a good one, seems to know his stuff but on this he's being cautious to the point of exasperation. As the WD put to the nurse she had, "Okay, my contractions are coming a minute apart. They're strong and this has been going on for hours. WHAT ELSE DOES HE WANT FER CRYING OUT LOUD!!"
She's a bit frustrated too. And as a pediatric nurse she knows a bit more than her favorite retired turd chaser husband.
So here we are at home, she's finally gotten to sleep. The contractions eased off a few hours ago and we'll see what pans out. She's betting on going back some time this weekend. I just love sitting on needles & pins.
In addition, two days ago I was informed my mother has Alzheimer's. She's at the point where she can't use the phone, I got a letter from her informing me of this. Must have taken some effort because her handwriting is now shit. This is the woman who always showed the results of several penmanship classes in her youth. At one time the public schools actually taught something!
So now I'll check into what I've got to do. She lives in California, that adds to the mix. We've never been close, anyone who qualifies for membership in either AA or Alanon can guess the reasons. My childhood in the Bizarro Universe is a story for another time. Bottom line, I'm not certain yet what I should do, what I can do and what I really want to do that would entail putting my wife and kids on a back burner for a while.
Wonder what else will be coming down the pipe?
Anyway, my blogging for the next week or so is going to be real light. I'm writing this to assure my vast readership everything is okey-dokey and I'll keep all three of you in my thoughts and prayers.
Later.
