The ability to silence all MSM broadcasts, what could go wrong?
This just seems like a bad idea: Feds Will Temporarily Cut Off All TV and Radio Broadcasts on Nov. 9
No, I don't believe we'll see a massive "Night of the Long Knives" scenario where the current Administration wipes out all opposition. I think it'll go as planned and advertised with no problems. Everything will go just fine.
I just don't like a central control for so much of our news sources. Yes, the MSM is so far left it isn't funny. But they ARE available to put out needed information in the event of natural disasters, acts of terrorism, etc. A central "kill switch" that will enable some nogoodnik to take out a major part of our national communications capability is a case of carrying all the eggs in one basket.
Just my paranoid opinion.

Stuff like this is all the more reason why we have to develop our own communications systems and media.
They've had this authority for a long time, they just haven't used it. But the ability to shut down the airwaves, which are technically the property of the public, through the Gov., is one thing.
But the FCC attempts to regulate the 'net are another--the infrastructure is privately owned, and the Federal courts have snubbed the FCC on this a couple of times, but they keep trying.
The regime wants to control communications, because they actually perceive the press as biased to the right. Progressives define anything that disagrees with them as hate speech, stupid or false. A progressive gov in control of the communications systems--especially the 'net, means no communications.
MRG, you hit the nail on the head.
scotju, I'm with ya on that!
IR, you're right about them having this authority. It still makes me uneasy, no matter WHO might be running the nation.
And yep, putting the progressives in charge with the ability to kill all news outlets is an extremely BAD idea.
I'm not nervous about it. Yet. But I agree with you that a central point of control just makes it that much easier to create a Federal Bureau of Propaganda should the system degrade much further.
