Stupid question time...
About the enforcement of that new Arizona law targeting illegal aliens.
A common cry from the detractors is that it's racist and anti-immigrant.
How is it racist when a good portion of Arizona cops are themselves of Hispanic descent? That's a pretty standard demographic here in the Southwest so although I reside in Texas I'll bet my next retirement check that the question accurately reflects the makeup of Arizona law enforcement.
How is the law anti-immigrant when it specifically targets those who are here illegally? Doesn't a nation have the right/responsibility to control who enters and rubs elbows with the legal citizens? If that had been done we might not have had a massacre on 9/11/01.
They're stupid questions, I know. But no one seems to be asking them. At least no one in the MSM.
And expecting THAT to happen may be the most stupid thing of all.

I just can't understand the thinking that arresting someone who is here illegally is racist. My husband, the Obot, made a ridiculous remark yesterday, "What's next? Are we going to start rounding up all the Mexicans and throw them in concentration camps?" I suggested he look up the word hyperbole. I also asked him where all those "concentration camps" were located in the United States.
I think Arizona is within their rights to do this. The Federal Government has refused to close up the borders and when they do catch illegals, they just let them off at the border knowing they will be back again in a week.
The only reason the Democrats are pulling the "racist" meme is because they want the Hispanic vote come November. If anything, I would think that the LEGAL Hispanic community would be in support of this bill because the more crime that comes over the border, the worse it is for them here.
DAMN! Subvet, you could have at least warned me you changed your blog format before it blinded me! Her head tucked underneath her arm!. I haven't heard that in years. In fact I really had forgotten it. Great playlist, you seem to have some humor like mine running through those veins. I wonder if being on a mountain top where the air is thin is like being in a sub where (I hear) the air sometimes gets stale.
Blog looks nice, 'course blue is my favorite color.

Mary Ellen demographics of the Southwest being what they are, I'm sure there are several Latino members in the AZ state legislature. It'd be interesting to see how they all voted on this.
Pops, what can I say? This thing is a work in progress. "With Her Head Tucked Underneath Her Arm" was a song remembered from my youth. Kinda sticks with ya, doesn't it? It was either that or Tiny Tim singing "Tiptoe Through The Tulips".
you put Tiny Tim on your playlist and I may never come here again!
that song makes my skin crawl and my teeth chatter.
