The family that plays together...
CLINTON, Tenn. (AP) - East Tennessee police said a mom punched a police officer and now shares assault charges with her adult son. The Knoxville News Sentinel quoted Anderson County Sheriff's Deputy Mark Hobbs who said he arrested a 39-year-old man accused of shooting at another man Thanksgiving afternoon. Hobbs said the suspect's mother followed the police car from her home in Andersonville to the jail in Clinton and demanded he release her son.
Hobbs said he tried to grab her hand and calm her down when she punched him in the face.
The mother was charged with a half-dozen offenses, including assault.
The son faces charges that include aggravated assault.
Both are free on bond.
FWIW, my mother would have let my ass rot in the slammer. The War Department has promised that same fate should I ever get canned. If I want sympathy I'd better look for it in the dictionary.

Mine, too. My parents were not the poster children for sympathy where law breaking was concerned.
