About Me

My photo
A Catholic who follows Rome & the Magisterium. I'm against gay "marriage", abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, human cloning. Altar girls, Communion in the hand, Eucharistic Ministers and "Protestant" music in the Church doesn't bother me at all. A proud American retired submarine sailor. Our borders should be secured with a 10 ft. high fence topped by concertina wire with minefields out to 20 yards on both sides and an additional 10 yards filled with warning signs outside of that Let's get energy independent NOW! Back Israel to the max, stop appeasing followers of the Pedophile Prophet. Pro 2nd Amendment, pro death penalty, Repeal all hate crime legislation. Back the police unless you'd rather call a hippie when everything hits the fan. Get government out of dealing with education, childhood obesity and the enviornment. Stop using the military for sociological experiments and if we're in a war don't micromanage their every move. Kill your television, limit time on the computer and pick up a book. God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.

"Yets"

One of the things you hear in AA meetings is the topic of "yets". Those are stupid things you haven't done while drunk, but they're in your future if you don't stop. For example, I have "yet" to asphyxiate on my own vomit, you get the idea. If you don't want them to happen, stay sober.

Here is another "yet" that I wouldn't want, found via Lucianne.com;

DULUTH, Minn.— A Minnesota man has pleaded guilty to driving his motorized La-Z-Boy chair while drunk. A criminal complaint says 62-year-old Dennis LeRoy Anderson told police he left a bar in the northern Minnesota town of Proctor (are the residents known as "Proctologists"?) on his chair after drinking eight or nine beers.

Prosecutors say Anderson's blood alcohol content was 0.29, more than three times the legal limit, (0.30 is when you can go comatose from alcohol poisoning. At least according to the War Dept.) when he crashed into a parked vehicle in August 2008. (Smooth move, Ex-Lax.) He was not seriously injured.

Police said the chair was powered by a converted lawnmower and had a stereo and cup holders. (If ya gonna go, do it in style.)

Sixth Judicial District Judge Heather Sweetland stayed 180 days of jail time Monday and ordered two years of probation for Anderson. His attorney, David Keegan, did not immediately return a call for comment.

Somehow I doubt he'll be contacted for a product endorsement by the La-z-Boy folks.

Yeppers, .3 can be fatal. But we have had winos WALK into an ER with a BAC of .5. The docs and RN's were astounded that he was still vertical at all. That is a flawless Olympic gold medal performance that is only possible from years of vigorous dedication with Ripple, sterno, charcoal lighter fluid and several professional trainers.

Oh, but that is going to be a great story for an open meeting!
