Palin speaks about Obamacare...

She might not be a Presidential candidate in 2012, but I'd bet dollars to doughnuts if that doesn't happen she'll be in the position of kingmaker.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin released a statement on Friday saying she opposes the government-run health care bills pending in Congress. Palin, who recently ended her time as Alaska's governor, cited its pro-abortion and euthanasia components.

Her statement is already drawing significant buzz on the Internet and, within 30 minutes of the statement's release, nearly 1,000 people had commented saying they supported her.

"As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we're saying not just no, but hell no,' Palin said.

"The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost," she added.

Palin said she worries the health care bill will be paid for on the backs of the elderly and disabled, who could be pushed into euthanasia and assisted suicide via rationing of medical treatment.

"And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course," she said.

Palin pulled no punches in going after President Barack Obama and his administration -- perhaps one reason she stepped down as governor.

"The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society' whether they are worthy of health care," Palin says. "Such a system is downright evil."

"Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion," she continued.

Palin noted a recent speech by pro-life Rep. Michele Bachmann who took to task an Obama advisor that LifeNews.com has profiled who is the chief architect of the Congressional health care plan but has been criticized for backing rationing of medical care for the elderly and disabled.

The former governor pointed out the "Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff."

"I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors," Palin said.

The possible 2012 presidential candidate urged pro-life advocates to get involved in speaking out against the bill and its pro-abortion and rationing parts.

"We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens," she said. "If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late."

Boy I like her. I just wish I knew what was going on inside her head. What a great post she did.

Not knowing whats going on in her head just adds some "zip" to the whole thing. She's doing it deliberately I'd bet.
