The silencing of talk radio...
I get my news from the radio and internet. Gave up on the print media and TV some time ago, they're REALLY biased. Talk radio and the internet need caution when utilizing them also, but you at least have a fair opportunity of getting the real story.
That may end soon according to this article; http://www2.hernandotoday.com/content/2009/aug/08/demise-talk-radio/
Here's a snippet of what it contains;
"...It will be called "Broadcast Localism," and makes an end run around the Fairness Doctrine by legislation. The new rules will require local stations to create a permanent "advisory board" to "advise them of local needs and seek comments on the matter. Moreover, to ensure these discussions include representatives of all community elements, these boards would be made up of various segments of the community, including under-served groups." The FCC also expects these groups to be involved in the license renewal process for local radio stations..."
Once again we'll be silenced in the name of "fairness" and "diversity", all who object will be labeled bigoted Neanderthals.
In fairness I'll admit a fair number of talk radio hosts are idiots. Same for an ungodly number of websites. But at least they're speaking freely. For now.
