The reality of condoms in Africa...
Theres been a bit of a kerfluffle lately over the Pope's remarks regarding use of condoms to fight AIDS in Africa. He thinks they're a failure.
Needless to go into detail on the hyperventilating hysterics many of the MSM, mainstream medical establishments, Planned Parenthood, etc have exhibited over this. They disagree. Strongly.
But here's a voice from Africa itself, found via Fr. Phillip; http://www.mercatornet.com/articles/view/bleak_stories_behind_failed_condom_campaigns/
Very much worth the time spent reading.
Aside from that, could someone tell me why the first reflexive response of Planned Parenthood is to always send condoms to disaster areas? Seriously, I keep coming across articles on how this is SOP for any part of the world hit by tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, etc.. Maybe these people have their heads up their asses, but survivors of disaster don't start frantically copulating as soon as they dig themselves out of the rubble. Food and shelter would be much more appreciated!

You're forgetting. It's not about actually helping. It's about making the giver feel good about themselves.
It must be that they have found that most natural disasters are caused by a shortage of latex.
