A Catholic who follows Rome & the Magisterium. I'm against gay "marriage", abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, human cloning. Altar girls, Communion in the hand, Eucharistic Ministers and "Protestant" music in the Church doesn't bother me at all. A proud American retired submarine sailor. Our borders should be secured with a 10 ft. high fence topped by concertina wire with minefields out to 20 yards on both sides and an additional 10 yards filled with warning signs outside of that Let's get energy independent NOW! Back Israel to the max, stop appeasing followers of the Pedophile Prophet. Pro 2nd Amendment, pro death penalty, Repeal all hate crime legislation. Back the police unless you'd rather call a hippie when everything hits the fan. Get government out of dealing with education, childhood obesity and the enviornment. Stop using the military for sociological experiments and if we're in a war don't micromanage their every move. Kill your television, limit time on the computer and pick up a book. God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.

Rush as the GOP standard bearer...

Well it sounds like pure crap. I wasn't even aware of the dustup involving Rush Limbaugh, but the story keeps growing so more ignorant folk like yours truly are getting cued in.

Here's a thought. Rush Limbaugh doesn't need to control what he says, being politically correct is his personal Kryptonite. He's no politician but is being attacked by the likes of Rohm Emanuel who has said Rush is, "...the voice and the intellectual force and energy behind the Republican Party.”

Emanuel and his ilk are constrained in ways Limbaugh isn't. They may not have known that and if they did, may have figured too many people will be turned off by the blunt speaking of a professional talk show host.

But they may have underestimated the exasperation felt amongst conservatives over the past few years. Here's how;

How many conservatives chafe at the reins of politcal correctness? How many of us threw our hands in the air when G.W. Bush took the high road and absolutely refused to climb into the gutter with his detractors? How many conservatives are tired of everything they value being trashed in public and the socalled conservative leaders speaking with the voices of church mice?

How many of us really wish for the conservative voice to be coming out of the mouth of a junkyard dog who calls a spade a spade instead of a "nonorganic matter extraction device"?

Wasn't that part of the appeal of Gov. Palin and of Fred Thompson? Didn't their plain spoken and unapologetic defense of traditional American values resonate with many and assuage a hunger for blunt, unvarnished voices speaking on behalf of John Q. Public?

By setting their sights on Limbaugh, the Obama machine may be shooting themselves in the foot. They may very well drive John Q. Public into the arms of Rush and whoever he may anoint for the next Presidential race once the honeymoon with our newest Chief Executive is over.

And you can bet that John Q. Public isn't going to stay passive for too long once B.O.'s economic house of cards gets hit with the first gales of reality. This guy is like Carter on steroids, once he becomes obviously incompetent to Everyman on the street, the American people will be faced with a choice. They can either retreat into apathy and listlessly allow the country to follow the path taken by the European Union or they can find a voice to be heard on the national stage. A voice that will be loud, clear, strong and blunt.

And being loud, clear, strong and blunt is an American trait. John Wayne never played the part of a milquetoast. The role of Patton is the one most associated with George C. Scott. These were blunt spoken characters who portrayed a national ideal. Americans like their leaders to be foreceful, almost Neanderthalic in their demeanor. Diplomats need not apply.

Thats where Rush comes in, thanks to the attention given to him by the Obots. If he becomes point man for the disaffected voters in this country we can expect others like him to spring up from the dragon's teeth sown out of the airwaves into the political fields of flyover country. Forget about being muzzled by the Fairness Doctorine, the hue and cry against that POS will echo from one coast to the other when the great unwashed masses think their voices are being silenced.

Should this scenario or one like it come to pass, Michael Steele and other politicos won't be selecting the next GOP Presidential candidate. Rush or someone very much like him may be playing kingmaker in a few years.

If that sounds bizarre, recall that our current President didn't really come into the limelight until he appeared on Oprah. She was the first to call him, "The One".

I have been listening to Rush for years and the man is spot on. I admire him because he isn't afraid to call a spade a spade. There isn't a single person in Obama's cabinet or else where that could hold a candle to Rush. As far as I am concerned, Rohm, and the rest of the White Staff, along with Obama are nothing more then traitors, and I firmly believe that all the hoopla they are raising over Rush, is just a smoke screen to keep people's minds off of what they are really doing to us.

Subvet, I hope you are right. I also hope and pray it doesn't take too long. The way this guy is going we will be a 3rd rate socialist country before we can celebrate the 4th of July.

As also a long time listern of Rush I agree with you. There isn't a man in President Obama's Whitehouse that can hold a candle to Rush on the topics of politics.

"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

Obama, Rahm and the rest of those ass clowns in DC should remember the words of Admiral Yamamoto.

Conservatives are not like the yammering Kos masses who pour out of their parents' basements waving the commie flag in one hand and a bag of Doritos in the other at the drop of a hat.

We have longer fuses. We have to. We work for a living. But once lit, our fuses don't go out.
