This is ridiculous.
The illegals are placing their lives in danger by committing a crime, the crime of illegally coming into this country. Yeah, it's just a misdemeanor but still it involves breaking the law.
If I cross the street against a "Don't Walk" sign and get plastered by an 18 wheeler, just who would be at fault? It's probably a poor comparison and some nitwit will claim pedestrians always have the right of way, yada, yada, yada.
Why don't we just start subsidizing bus travel across the border for them?
