Getting involved in Syria
Doing anything in the way of military action because of Assad using WMD's is S-T-U-P-I-D.
Neither side in that conflict has our best interests at heart, there is nothing in that country we desire. Bombing Syria now would just be an exercise in feel-good diplomacy. The thing about bombing, even of the limited sort to show disapproval for nefarious acts, is that those bombed are going to have very long memories.
And what idiot thinks we'll just drop a few bombs, walk away whistling with our hands in our collective pockets and there will be no possibility of a violent response? For some reason "quagmire" comes to mind, ya know, that same word used during ANY recent conflict we've been in.
Hey, during the time Bush was in office I routinely came across Catholics who claimed complete pacifism was the high road to take. The only action they condoned in response to 9-11-01 was prayer. Let's do THAT, lets just pray for all the innocents in Syria. They'll both be very grateful for it I'm sure.
