My oldest son (9 yrs.) has a habit of slouching in a chair with his head tilted back and mouth open. It's a part of his autistic behavior and yeah, that can become a handy crutch to excuse anything. Trust me, with my background and track record it isn't just a way to get out of dealing with misbehavior.
If something like this happened to my boy, I think before it would all be over the cops would have to escort me off school property. That would just be the start, by the time the wife and I were done you can bet everyone would know our names. Thats not a threat, it's a statement of future fact.
