About those Marines who pissed on dead Taliban...
I believe this man says it best: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/unless-you-have-been-shot-at-by-the-taliban-shut-your-mouth-war-is-hell-allen-west-weighs-in-on-urinating-marine-scandal/
Yep, I hope he runs for President someday, he'll definetly get my vote.

But did they?
I watched the video twice. It was a bright sunny day, I saw no streams of urine, and I didn't see any wet spots on the corpses or the ground. Plus the streams of urine would have made noise; I heard no noise.
Did they really piss, or fake it?
And IF the video is real, and I missed the important clues, who are the Marines, and have they admitted to anything?
And -- who took the video, when, and where, and can the photographer vouch for its authenticity?
Sidney Freedman, my favorite character on M*A*S*H, once called war "the greatest enterprise ever devised to separate a man's brains from his buns". One of the reasons war is a last resort is that it inverts the moral order, and over time degrades the soldier's ability to separate the necessary evils of war from the gratuitous (think of My Lai). That's why I believe those of us who have never served in combat and never experienced the stresses it imposes on people don't have the frame of reference with which to judge acts such as this. I don't condone such disrespect for the dead ... but I can't condemn it, either. There but for the grace of God ....
Sub, the critics of those Marines ought to 'piss up a rope'! LOL!
Anthony, you may be interested in reading "With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa" by Eugene Sledge. He illustrates your point very well. Sometimes the only thing seperating us from our enemies, whether Japanese practicing Bushido or Islamists terrorizing their enemies, is the degree of babarous behavior. It may not seem to be much, but it IS something.
Scot, amen to that one. It's easy to criticize from the comfort of our armchairs. I believe Rep. West has the right of it, let the military handle it and the rest of us just STFU!
Old Bob, I'm just going with the worst possible scenario. Everything you're asking SHOULD be asked. If there are any discrepancies in the reporting they need to be aired for public knowledge. But assuming everything is actually as portrayed by the MSM, so what? The military is acting on this (as they did with both My Lai & Abu Gharib). Our taxes pay for the best damned military in the world, we should just give them a chance to do their damned job instead of everyone jumping into the position of backseat driver. That seems to be the point Rep. West is trying to make and I hope his views get a LOT of attention!
Three Words:
Black Jack Pershing
IR, yep. It might be a dirty game but you have to "play" that way sometimes to get your message across.
