As I understand it he said we'll fight to "break the momentum" * of the Taliban. At least for another 18 months.

What a steaming crock of shit.

How would a grunt on the ground feel about that one? "Hey buddy, go risk your neck and hopefully in a year and a half when we leave it'll have been worthwhile."

Riiigghhttt. Noted. That sort of "appreciation" will do wonders for our military's morale.

If this is the best he can do in the way of commitment then just pull the damned plug and bring the troops home. No American life is worth risking for such a load of bullcrap.

And nowhere was the word "victory" used or strongly implied.
