About Me

A Catholic who follows Rome & the Magisterium. I'm against gay "marriage", abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, human cloning. Altar girls, Communion in the hand, Eucharistic Ministers and "Protestant" music in the Church doesn't bother me at all. A proud American retired submarine sailor. Our borders should be secured with a 10 ft. high fence topped by concertina wire with minefields out to 20 yards on both sides and an additional 10 yards filled with warning signs outside of that Let's get energy independent NOW! Back Israel to the max, stop appeasing followers of the Pedophile Prophet. Pro 2nd Amendment, pro death penalty, Repeal all hate crime legislation. Back the police unless you'd rather call a hippie when everything hits the fan. Get government out of dealing with education, childhood obesity and the enviornment. Stop using the military for sociological experiments and if we're in a war don't micromanage their every move. Kill your television, limit time on the computer and pick up a book. God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.

Message from the Bishop of Dallas:

Urgent Message from Bishop Farrell:

Congress is preparing to debate health care reform legislation. The Catholic bishops of the United States strongly support genuine health care reform that protects the life and dignity of all, from the moment of conception until natural death. However, all current bills are seriously deficient on abortion and conscience rights, and do not yet provide adequate access to health care for immigrants and the poor.

I and my brother bishops in the U.S. Bishops Conference ask you to please contact your Representative and Senators immediately and urge them to fix these bills with pro-life amendments. Please click here for information and a web address that allows you to send an email message to Congress with a click of a button. Para español presione aqui. I along with all bishops in the USCCB ask for your swift action and the commitment of your prayers for this critical effort. Thank you for your help. We can help make sure that health care reform will be about saving lives, not destroying them.

Suggested Prayer of the Faithful:

That Congress will act to ensure that needed health care reform will truly protect the life, dignity and health care of all and that we will raise our voices to protect the unborn and the most vulnerable and to preserve our freedom of conscience. We pray to the Lord.

I agree that reform is needed in the allocation of our health care but not the actual health care. The U.S's health care is the best in the world. I agree with the Bishops holding out for defending the life of the unborn, but where I draw the line and dissent with the Bishops position is with them obligating the U.S. to provide "free" health care to people who entered the United States illegally. The Bishops are pretty much wanting the U.S. to give up their borders and sovereignty. From the Bishops perspective, Then why not stop there, shouldn't the United States accept anyone from anywhere in the world into U.S. without any background check etc. or the person legally entering at all?

When the Bishop of Dallas mentions that " not yet provide adequate access to health care for immigrants and the poor." I hope that he was talking about LEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

Rev. Gregori, probably not. The Church doesn't define witholding health care from illegals as an intrincis evil, unlike abortion. For that reason the debate can rage on concerning illegal aliens but the sticking point must be on the issue of abortion.

Teresa, from the viewpoint of the bishops, national sovereignty is a minor issue. As I've already mentioned to Rev. Gregori, the important point is the issue of abortion. THAT is intrinsically evil, unlike denying entrance to anyone who wants to waltz across our porous borders.

FWIW, I belive we should fence off both northern and southern borders and mine the perimeters.

Thats just my opinion and, until it's deemed by the Magisterium as intrinsically evil, I'll be holding onto it.
