About Me

My photo
A Catholic who follows Rome & the Magisterium. I'm against gay "marriage", abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, human cloning. Altar girls, Communion in the hand, Eucharistic Ministers and "Protestant" music in the Church doesn't bother me at all. A proud American retired submarine sailor. Our borders should be secured with a 10 ft. high fence topped by concertina wire with minefields out to 20 yards on both sides and an additional 10 yards filled with warning signs outside of that Let's get energy independent NOW! Back Israel to the max, stop appeasing followers of the Pedophile Prophet. Pro 2nd Amendment, pro death penalty, Repeal all hate crime legislation. Back the police unless you'd rather call a hippie when everything hits the fan. Get government out of dealing with education, childhood obesity and the enviornment. Stop using the military for sociological experiments and if we're in a war don't micromanage their every move. Kill your television, limit time on the computer and pick up a book. God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.

Hospice=Soylent Green??

I remember when the hospice movement started, it was about the time my father was dying. A couple of well meaning people came up to me at the hospital, identified themselves as hospice workers and told me (with butter-won't-melt-in-our-mouths expressions) that they were there if I needed anything.

"As a matter of fact, I do." I said, "My father won't last much longer, I don't live in the area so could you recommend a good funeral home for preparing his body for shipment back east?"

I can be a cold bastard and they weren't impressed, but hey THEY ASKED!!

When my brother heard of it he got all bent out of shape and told me hospices were directly along the lines of the movie, "Soylent Green". In that flick, Edward G. Robinson checks into a clinic to kill himself painlessly.

Hell, even I knew that was bullcrap!

Nowadays, maybe not...

Salem, OR ( -- The number of assisted suicides in Oregon has increased 30 percent in the last two years and euthanasia activists themselves may have provided the reasons why. It appears members of Compassion & Choices have infiltrated the hospice system and are urging patients to kill themselves...

It's getting scarier every day.

(And I don't mean two references to Soylent Green in one night...)

A society that doesn't think that babies are worth protecting will soon move on to killing all the rest.

The people of Holland voted for "Death with Dignity", legalizing euthanasia, but like the old saying; "Beware of what you ask for, because you just might get it," because today in Holland it is no longer up to the patient, and in many cases not even up to the patient's families. It is totally the doctor's decision, if the doctor feels that for what ever reason, you are not worth saving, he can "off" you, and he don't even have to let you or your family know that he is going to do it. And guess what? It is perfectly legal there.

Mike, check out what's happening in Holland & Belgium in that regard.

Rev. Gregori, I listened to a Catholic priest recently expound the same way on the topic of euthanasia. Pretty scary when you're actually afraid to go see the doctor.
