In drydock for emergent repairs..
Phooey.
As anyone who reads this blog on a semi-regular basis knows, I screwed up my right hand at work back in November. Since then it's been coming along fairly well but not 100%.
This past Thursday I went in for some bone graft work to complete the healing. Stupid me, I figured it would be on the same level as when I had an ingrown toenail; i.e. the doc would cover up my hand so I couldn't see him work, he'd then give me a local anesthetic, tie the hand down and while he did his thing I'd be reading People magazine or flirting with the nurses. Then I'd waltz out of the hospital and just keep on keeping on, headed down the highway of life.
Those of you familiar with this sort of thing can stop laughing now.
So I'm post-op with my lower arm bandaged halfway up to the elbow. It must look pretty bad, my three year old took one look at it yesterday morning and ran to the War Department for protection. Can't do much with the arm and the doc says to plan on light duty for the next 6-8 weeks. Fortunately my job is such that I'll still be able to work during that time. But it's definetly going to put a crimp in my blogging.
So if my mother's favorite turd chaser seems rather quiet the next couple of months, now you know why.
Well, it'll give me a chance to shut up and listen to what others have to say.
