I had a kneejerk skepticism initially, thought it would turn into another "West bad, Islam good" rant. It didn't.

The paragraph that caught my attention was the last;

They are all Muslims but every so often there is an inter-tribal conflict. The government sends a pacification committee to stop it, made up of five authoritative people including at least two Christians (usually a Catholic and a Protestant). I asked the reason for this decision in a Muslim country. “Because you have a sense of forgiveness, of bringing peace,” the Internal Affairs Minister replied. “For us Muslims, revenge is sacred.” This is why a Christian speaking about peace is credible, but a Muslim is not. (bold mine)

Note that the last sentence is the priest's opinion, not a reiteration of what the Minister told him.

I don't believe that if we all stopped partying tomorrow, put down the crack pipes, booze, etc, had our women dress in something other than thongs and all started going to church it would change anything. We're in this war against Islam for keeps now, I believe its them or us.
