Light duty
For the very few of you who read this blog on a regular basis, I may be a bit light in the posting the next few days. This past Sunday I had some overtime and was working on replacing a drive belt for a fan. You'd think an ex A-ganger senior chief would have more brains than to grab the belt before it coasts to a stop. The end result is I almost completely severed the end of my little finger and will be on light duty for a while. Great time to do a lot of web surfing except that my typing will now be of the "hunt and peck" variety. That gets old real fast if you're used to touch typing. So my posts may be a bit sparse.
As for how a knuckle dragger learned to touch type (and I get that question ALL the time), I took two semesters of typing in my sophmore year of high school. That was where all the girls seemed to go and I was like most other teenaged boys, always chasing skirts with no real idea of what to do when I caught one.
I did learn how to type but that was ALL I got out of that class!

Go to my blog and email me, I want to see if we can figure out who we know.
Sorry about the finger. Were they able to sew the tip back on?
I am a hunt and peck guy. Took band in high school. There were girls there too, but I haven't played in 38 years. I would rather be able to type.
Hope you're up to speed soon. I know you will be.
When I reported aboard my first boat I was a FA. The yeoman saw that I could type so he asked me if I wanted to be a YN striker. Am still not sure if that was a good idea or not. Everybody else on board thought I was getting off easy. I suppose they were right.
