Just wondering.
Reality check time, 231 wet-behind-the-ears youth in a nation of over 300 million doesn't amount to spit. But still, coupled with the recent ammo purchases, the armored vehicles cited in the article, etc. it brings questions to mind that aren't answered. Let's start with, what is the NEED for this group anyway? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

The SS started with fewer than that! As to brow shirts, of course not.
I wouldn't be surprised to see hobnailed Birkinstocks, though.
I'm not really worried about their becoming a postmodern Hitler Jugend just yet. They're more likely to rap "F*** Da Police" than sing "The Horst Wessel Song". But I'll keep an eye on them just the same.

Anthony, agreed that they'll more likely be a bunch of ethnically diverse, metrosexuals with anarchist tendencies. Not much to worry about. Yet.
Still I wonder what kind of boneheaded scheme is in play here? My original question, "What is the need for these folks?" still stands. Since they'll be paid at taxpayer expense, it's a valid one.
