A thought about that HHS mandate kerfluffle.
Since the shit hit the fan on this particular topic, the Obama Administration has gone mum. They said it was a done deal, the "compromise" that was offered is their last word on it.
So just in the local fishwrap there are plenty of letters to the editor keeping this topic alive. I'm certain other parts of the nation are seeing the same. I don't watch television programs but the internet is also seething with commentary.
The government stays silent.
Are we seeing an attempt to ignore the flap and furor this has raised, the Executive Branch thereby calling everyone's bluff with a "Get lost, you won't do squat but take it." attitude that will become more apparent as time goes by.
What will happen then? On March 23rd theres already a rally for religious freedom planned in numerous cities across the country. Will it get the same lack of coverage the March For Life did in January?
Will the Catholic Church here in America be forced to decide to meekly go silent or move into active and very public civil disobedience? If, for instance, Catholics begin refusing to pay their taxes what kind of response could we expect?
IMO we'll see things get a lot worse before they ever get better. I don't know how it could come about, but the makings for a civil war seem to be coming into sight.
