About Me

A Catholic who follows Rome & the Magisterium. I'm against gay "marriage", abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, human cloning. Altar girls, Communion in the hand, Eucharistic Ministers and "Protestant" music in the Church doesn't bother me at all. A proud American retired submarine sailor. Our borders should be secured with a 10 ft. high fence topped by concertina wire with minefields out to 20 yards on both sides and an additional 10 yards filled with warning signs outside of that Let's get energy independent NOW! Back Israel to the max, stop appeasing followers of the Pedophile Prophet. Pro 2nd Amendment, pro death penalty, Repeal all hate crime legislation. Back the police unless you'd rather call a hippie when everything hits the fan. Get government out of dealing with education, childhood obesity and the enviornment. Stop using the military for sociological experiments and if we're in a war don't micromanage their every move. Kill your television, limit time on the computer and pick up a book. God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.

A comment on "Fast & Furious" and life in general.

Because I'm really averse to conspiracy theories, when "Fast & Furious" broke I had reservations about ascribing an intent of it to greater gun owner restrictions in our nation. I DID because it only made logical sense, didn't "feel" right but on an intellectual plane it seemed on target.

I still had reservations, feeling it had me wearing a tinfoil hat when I didn't want to.

But it seems theres more than one person who is on board with that same deduction, quite s few people as a matter of fact. They don't all sit at computer monitors in their jammies either. Here's the story:

Yep, when the public starts fearing the government there is something definitely wrong. I think it went wrong a few decades back, we're now seeing the fruition of it all.

When we started seeing history rewritten in the schools and on the news is when everybody should have woken up.

When we allowed Uncle Sugar to institute the "Great Society" programs that have gutted the family structure of the poor and encouraged them to remain on the dole, we should have spoken up. In all fairness though, most of us were too damned young to do anything, I'd fault the adults of that time. That would be the so called "Greatest Generation" (no, I'm not their biggest fan).

When we saw the traditional values of our Judeo-Christian roots demonized and called into question, we should have shouted out with strong voices against it.

Now we're reaping the whirlwind. Not just in this instance but many others.

Sub - whenever the left wants to shut the right up they love to jump on the "tin foil hat" routine.

Allow me to remind you what that perfectly nice word means:

A secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.
The action of plotting or conspiring.

Nothing too scary in that definition...

It no different then when they throw around the words stupid, uninformed, terrorists, right-wing whacko, and on and on.

Don't fall for it but always "trust but verify."

I hear you on the tinfoil hat thing, but honestly, when I first heard of F&F that's exactly what I thought. It's what commies do, especially the Chicago thug variety. Want guns banned? Run a bunch of guns to gangs (in Mexico and here, btw), then blame our gun laws when the poop hits the fan. It's the same thing they do with just about everything; forget not letting crises go to waste, create them, wag the dog, and "fix" America to their liking.

Adrienne, your advice of "trust but verify" was the deciding factor in my jumping on the conspiracy bandwagon for this one. EVERYTHING seemed to lead to an otherwise outlandish idea, i.e. our government was intentionally setting up a scenario for removing Constitutionally guaranteed rights. Color me "sadder but wiser", I'm no longer as naive as a few months ago.

Fuzzy, exactly right. A.C. Doyle in his "Sherlock Holmes" stories always said that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. As revolting as the idea was, that our government would intentionally set up a scenario where innocent humans would be killed in order to further an agenda, it remains the only one that explains everything.

I thought the whole thing behind fast and furious was to give a rational for more gun control, to disarm the people.

Add though--something illegal is taken to mean we need more laws--the government sponsored and facilitated the violations--they wouldn't have happened without the ATF doing this. It was already illegal. If it had been done by legal means, then perhaps--but since it wasn't, why didn't the ATF just ENFORCE THE LAWS WE ALREADY HAVE?

Because they needed a rationale to disarm the American Populace, that's all.

IR, that seems to be the only logical explanation. Too many indicators for it to be otherwise.
