Life on the home front...
This is our oldest cat, the dope. Twice so far she's managed to get trapped behind the entertainment center. To do it she has to deliberately jump down from the top to the floor behind the back of the cabinet. None too smart. I guess she thinks the stuffed dragon is a buddy. Who knows with cats? We've another feline, he was probably sleeping off the strenous walk from the food bowl to the bedroom when this picture was taken.
I read somewhere cats are as useless as lava lamps, not so. Lava lamps will at least give some light.
I get zero respect from my kids. Absolute zip;
The one standing (actually jumping) on my hip is our five year old, his three year old sister is on my gut chattering away to me while the six year old idly sits on my right shoulder. Anybody wonder why I've been getting various aches lately? The picture was taken in the living room. I'd apologize for the mess but why lie? It's always that bad, or worse!
Have a happy Fourth, I'll be cleaning a litter box and getting mugged by small children.

MM, if I want my feet warm I'll wear socks to bed. No hairballs, no litter box, no trips to the vet. The benefits go on and on. As for the children, they should be quietly playing at my feet just waiting to hear whatever pearls of wisdom I'll dispense.

Sounds as if your July 4th will be a tame one, huh?
Mr. AOW and I have three cats. Two are mousers and earn their keep. The other one is a queen and doesn't turn her hand except to go to the food dish.
I can relate to the shedding-of-hairs and litter-box issues. Sheesh. All pets are a lot of work, I think.
Still, the cats are great company for Mr. AOW as he recovers from his stroke.
Respect? I get respect whenever I take out my wallet - which turns to laughter when I open my wallet.
