Died February 05, 2010 serving during Operation Enduring Freedom

22, of Traverse City, Mich.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died Feb. 5 in Bala Murghab, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

(Taken from www.9and10news.com of Feb. 7, 2010) A Northern Michigan Soldier gave his all fighting for our country in western Afghanistan.

Sergeant Dillon B. Foxx was killed Friday, February 5, when enemy forces attacked his unit.

Sgt. Foxx changed his name and used to go by Robert Dillon Lentz.

Foxx was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

A staff sergeant and captain who worked with Foxx describe him as a self-starter and someone they could always count on.

His brother noticed the same characteristics growing up.

Foxx grew up in Nashville, TN, but moved to Traverse City when he was 17-years-old.

He graduated from Traverse City West Senior High School in 2006.

He enlisted in the Army that same year when he was 18-years-old.

This was Foxx's second tour of duty in Afghanistan.

He leaves behind a seven-month-old son.

A memorial will be held in his honor in Afghanistan.

There will also be a memorial service in Traverse City, but there is no date set for that yet.
