Maj. Hasan as a victim...
So the big, bad military drove Maj. Hasan to murder 14 innocents (one of his victims was pregnant and I'll count the unborn child in the number)?
That seems to be the spin now coming out of a recent ABC news story (H/T to Jihad Watch). Here's the pertinent quote; "Investigators believe Hasan's frustration over the failure of the Army to pursue what he regarded as criminal acts by U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan may have helped to trigger the shootings."
This walking waste of human flesh is now being portrayed as a victim, so traumatized by tales of military misdeeds on the part of his patients that he just had to act out as he did. By implication the troops get smeared. Any minute now the chorus of "If he said it, it must be true. Who would lie about that?" will start.
Our military as babykillers. Guilty till proven innocent and lots of luck proving that one!
For those who were around during Viet Nam it's the same old, same old. Remember how returning vets were stereotyped as semi-psychotic addicts ( and BTW, thanks for nothing Sylvester Stallone and everyone else associated with "Rambo" and it's ilk.)? It didn't help when jerks like John Kerry solemnly lied out their ass about what was going on. Lied for no other reason than personal gain. FWIW, I've never had a problem with the decorations he earned, I'm sure he came by them honestly. It was his "Winter Soldier" testimony that REALLY pissed me off.
So look for an increasing animosity towards the military in general, combat troops in particular as all the fatassed libs who know nothing more than how to spell the word "military" become self-styled experts on what should be done with the troops.
Yep, the United States military. Where every meal is a feast, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade and where you'll earn the enthusiastic gratitude of your fellow countrymen.
Sure you will.
