Remembering 9/11/01
I received an email from my Knights of Columbus council asking for volunteers to pray for world peace on Friday. Catholics Against Obamacare is asking for prayers and fasting on that day for the defeat of Obamacare. B.O. is wanting it to be a national day of service.
Screw this.
This sort of thing hasn't been done for Dec. 7th. It hasn't been done for the anniversary of Hiroshima or Nagasaki's A-bombing. These days are remembered solely for the events that happened then, nothing is tacked on to share in the significance of the date.
Why the hell are so many people trying to push the events of 9/11/01 into the background of the nation's consciousness? Is it guilt, an unwillingness to stomach some very unpleasant facts?
They can all go to hell.
On 9/11/09 I'll be praying for the souls of those innocents who died that day. Praying that they not have died in vain and that sooner or later we wake the hell up and realize what brought that on. That we realize we've an enemy actively seeking our destruction and that enemy is aided by the spineless Quislings of our own government, in BOTH parties.
THAT is how I'll spend 9/11 and anyone who disapproves can go screw themselves.
