Project 2996 needs some help...
The following is taken directly from the site;
What is 2996?
Project 2,996 is a tribute to the victims of 9/11.
On September 11, 2006, more than 3,000 bloggers joined together to remember the victims of 9/11.
Each year we will honor them by remembering their lives, and not by remembering their murderers.
If you would like to help out, by pledging to post a tribute on your own blog on 9/11 of this year, click the button at the top of the sidebar. Then, use the web to learn something about the life of the name you are given, and on 9/11, post your tribute your blog or website.
But, and this is critical, the tributes should celebrate the lives of these people–kind of like a wake. Over the last 5 years we’ve heard the names of the killers, and all about the victim’s deaths. This is a chance to learn about and celebrate those who died. Forget the murderers, they don’t deserve to be remembered. But some people who died that day deserve to be remembered––2,996 people.

I strongly urge everyone to check the site out and sign up.
That jackass in the Oval Office is trying to have 9/11 made into a "national service day", thus distracting us from the fact that we were attacked by adherents of a "religion of peace" on that day. In the fashion of all rewriters of history, he and his cronies will soon have us apologizing to the scum. SCREW HIM AND THE HORSE HE RODE IN ON!!

You right. Screw Obama. He needs to stop with his messiah complex. He is so arrogant that he's narcissistic. He needs to get the hell over himself. He just sickens me.
This is such a worthy cause. I signed up, but I wasn't sent a person's name. I didn't see a name pop up when I signed up either.
I've signed their website twice, each time asking for a name to research. I've received no response. I will try again. They cannot complain of a lack of help when they do not respond to requests to join.
Thanks for getting the word out about the 2,996 Project, Subvet.
I've received the name of one American, researched his life until that awful day in 2001, and have his biography ready to publish at my LMC bloggie Thursday night.
To Arby, and Teresa: The process takes about four days for some reason... Just be ready when that email comes.
I was number 154. I'll post this too...
Arby - the site is being attacked by a virus and he is trying to work on his kid's computer. Guess it's pretty slow going.

Hello again Subvet-
I received the following email from Dale Roe, head of the Project; it may supply an answer to why many are not finding an American to feature on 9/11.
Hope this helps someone:
I've been getting a few emails from people who never got the email with the instructions for finding the name assigned to them. My guess is that some spam filters are catching the email because it has a lot of links.
So I'm sending this stripped down email hoping it gets through to more of you.
To find the name assigned to you:
1. Go to the participants list: http://project2996.wordpress.com/2009-participants/
2. Use the search feature in your browser to find your name. I used the name you left in your comment, so if you used a nickname, search for that. And for those who have a common name or nickname I have included the first 4 letters of the email address you used as well. That should be enough to find your name on the list.
3. If you took more than one name, your names may not all be in the same place.
Thank you,
Dale C. Roe
