Dominoes...
I was talking about domino effects to the War Department last night. It started with my reiteration of how B.O. started his public trek to power, by winning an Illinois seat in the U.S. Senate after beating Jack Ryan.
For those not familiar with the background, Ryan withdrew after details of his divorce were made public. Here's the Wikipedia entry on Ryan; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Ryan_(Senate_candidate
Because Ryan withdrew, B.O. ran against an ill-prepared candidate (Keyes jumping into the middle of the fray wasn't too smart IMHO.), B.O. won and came to national attention. After two years in the Senate (and just how much of that time was spent laying the groundwork for a presidential candidacy?), B.O. jumps into the spotlight and goes on to become our Chief Executive.
Because he is now our President the nation is doing an about face in many areas. We're running full tilt towards embracing socialism, trying to get out of Iraq with the job there uncompleted, the economy is tanking (and it's just too late to be blaming Bush & Co., again IMHO), we're backing off on promoting human rights (check out our silence on things like the Iranian election), finding ourselves in bed with totalitarian dictators (when B.O. finds himself agreeing with Chavez & Castro about a "coup" in Honduras it's time for a med check) and on and on....
I didn't even mention the possible effects of trying to cozy up to Iran's Ahmenidjad while putting distance between ourselves and Israel. Can you say, "nuclear war"?
I'll give this as a gauge of how serious things are, at least one man whose judgment I respect is now stockpiling food and ammunition. He doesn't have anything specific in mind, it's all on a "just in case" basis.
All this started when a bunch of sealed records of a divorce proceeding came to light. I acknowledge that according to Wikipedia, Ryan was trailing B.O. in the polls when it happened. I feel the disclosure of his divorce proceedings really put the nail in the coffin for the Republicans, insuring B.O. had a clear path to the Senate and beyond.
Dominoes.
To put it another way;

Sorry, I'm playing catch up with your blog. We moved and I have satellite internet now and it's horrid (to put it mildly).
I know a lot of people who are stock piling food, ammunition, guns and other things right now. The banking system in this country is in major trouble, the president has weakened the country with his policies, and people are afraid. There is a blog called survivalblog.com that has seen its readership raise from a few hundred hits a day to a few thousand hits a day. A break down in the economy seems inevitable at this point.
Love your blog!
