A Catholic who follows Rome & the Magisterium. I'm against gay "marriage", abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, human cloning. Altar girls, Communion in the hand, Eucharistic Ministers and "Protestant" music in the Church doesn't bother me at all. A proud American retired submarine sailor. Our borders should be secured with a 10 ft. high fence topped by concertina wire with minefields out to 20 yards on both sides and an additional 10 yards filled with warning signs outside of that Let's get energy independent NOW! Back Israel to the max, stop appeasing followers of the Pedophile Prophet. Pro 2nd Amendment, pro death penalty, Repeal all hate crime legislation. Back the police unless you'd rather call a hippie when everything hits the fan. Get government out of dealing with education, childhood obesity and the enviornment. Stop using the military for sociological experiments and if we're in a war don't micromanage their every move. Kill your television, limit time on the computer and pick up a book. God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.

REDNECK CATHOLIC: Turn Your Backs! And be Fearless about it!

I stumbled upon your site as a link from The Stupid Shall be Punished. I'm curious how isolationism and intolerance towards followers of Islam is going to solve any problems that we as a global collective are facing. I understand that me serving in the military gives you the right to belittle the beliefs of others, so don't go down that road. I'm genuinely interested in finding out how Muslims have personally somehow wronged you.

Current submariner, Auburn Grad, but apparently don't meet your definition of a redneck.

How you can accuse me of isolationism is puzzling. Care to elaborate?

My intolerance towards the followers of the pedophile prophet has it's roots in the events of 9/11/01. Since then I've become more familiar with that cult, the more I know the less I like. I've nothing but contempt for Islamists, we have more to fear from the useful idiots that would enable their proliferation through the world. Unfortunately it appears some of those idiots are currently serving in our own military.

"Global collective"? is that a reference to the U.N.? I believe that organization has become primarily a vehicle for America bashers to use as a forum for their imaginary greivances. For that reason we should leave and perhaps work through other organziations such as NATO.

Your military service means diddle squat to me. From the arrogant tone of your comments I perceive you as a idiot educated beyond the limits of his intelligence. You're undoubtedly a commissioned officer, too bad because that means someone, somewhere, believes you actually possess leadership qualities. IMHO you'd better serve our country by cleaning the bilges of whatever craft you serve aboard.

No, you don't meet my definition of a redneck. That would be something we can both share a sense of relief about.

When I referred to isolationism I meant it in more of a framework of religious isolationism.

Pedophile prophet? I'm not sure that I am getting any concrete reason for your anti Islamic message from that. I was really asking about what you are reading that scares you about Islam? I understand that there are certain branches of Islam that are extremists, but are you insisting that all followers of islam hold a deep seated hatred of the infidels? IMHO relating all followers of Islam to a select few that are pursuing world domination through violent means would be akin to comparing you to a KKK member lashing out against all non aryans because you follow a christian religion.

I agree with you that the UN is a useless body for the most part. I was more referring to the world at large. The US, EU, and Pacific powers such as China and Japan are in a conflict with the Middle East over control of oil reserves. As a result, we the and our "coalition of the willing" have created the conditions resulting in a violent revolt.

Our options are to eradicate everyone who disagrees with us or to try and solve the problem. Schools and infrastructure would be a good start.

What is your solution to the problems that exist in the middle east?

"When I referred to isolationism I meant it in more of a framework of religious isolationism."

Now I wonder how you see a mindset of religious isolationism in any of my posts?

"I was really asking about what you are reading that scares you about Islam?"

I feel that, left to their own devices and the complicity of their well-intentioned Western dupes, they'll try their best to impose sharia law in any nation they can. Examples of this can be found in the writings of Melanie Phillips, who refers to London as "Londonistan".

"are you insisting that all followers of islam hold a deep seated hatred of the infidels?"

Not all. But too many either very overtly express that hatred (witness the reception in Iran of the overtures from our present Chief Executive) or tacitly approve of it. Since VERY rarely are any protests against Islamic atrocities heard from Muslims it's difficult to know their true feelings. At best we get very generalized statements that they "condemn all acts of terror", only to discover that their interpretation of the word and ours is drastically different.

"we the and our "coalition of the willing" have created the conditions resulting in a violent revolt."

Could you elaborate a bit on that one? If you're referring to our actions in Iraq that could take an entire week to discuss. If you're referring to a broader picture including a presumption of native exploitation to gain access to their oil reserves then we've got an entirely different topic there.

"Our options are to eradicate everyone who disagrees with us or to try and solve the problem. Schools and infrastructure would be a good start."

The nature of that disagreement determines the response. We've allowed Iraq to enact a constitution that recognizes the preeminence of the Koran, THAT alone would constitute a disagreement in the minds of some! IMHO it's their country, let them screw it up as they please.

"What is your solution to the problems that exist in the middle east?"

Nothing specific beyond a stronger alliance with the state of Israel. After that it's pretty much something that gets dictated to on a case-by-case basis. Some things might include the covert assistance that could be supplied the dissatisfied elements in Iran, a stronger support of the Indian government vis-a-vis Pakistan, those things are what immediately come to mind. In addition to that we should definetly take whatever steps necessary to become as energy independent of foreign resources as possible.

Believe me, I'm NOT of the "kill 'em all and let God sort them out" mindset. But the more I learn of Islam and it's teachings the less I trust those who follow it. So when we sup with that particular devil we should use a very long spoon.
