My oldest child by the War Department was born when I was 51. The youngest was born when I was 54. So I was interested in this story.

well, first off, 100,000 is NOT a very big study pool, second. this doesn't tell what other factors were present with these kids. ie, did he take kids who were sick and then look at father's age, or a blind study of older fathers' kids. There's a BIG difference in how that will skew the statistics. Remember, every researcher is out to make a name for him/herself cuz that's the only way they get more funding (aka MONEY) for more research projects...which is how they make thier living.
Finally, they cannot prove cause/effect relationships....only state antedotal "evidence".
Until this study has been repeated at least 3 times by different independent researchers...with LARGE populations, then it's just as much horse shit as the study that said coffee caused cancer...then coffee cured cancer...

I think that's totally cool! I'll be 46 next month, and my fifth child is due in December.
