This is why I never went to college....
Because I knew it would be a waste of time and money. I could go to places like this on my own time and not have to get graded on it. When I saw "Animal House" I really identified with the character John Belushi portrayed. So why not just admit I'm a pig and not gussy it up as "education"? Honesty should count for something.
I checked out the website for this institute of "higher learning" and found that till last year it was a women's college. They now admit men. You'd think a place like this would try to instill a bit more in the way of self-respect and traditional values in their students. Guess not. Wonder how many of their students will opt for this career field?
I'm sure the parents footing the bill for this place feel their money is well spent. Sad thing is, if they're anything like their children, (and the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree), they probably do.

Subvet,
Just want to let you know I agree with your comments @ AfricanKell's blog. I smell a wolfe in sheep's clothing.

Regarding the field trip...that probably would have been the only paper I would have "Aced" all semester long... ;-)
Regarding the AfricanKelli's blog, I thought I would try a "diplomatic" approach to her (AfrikanHelli) first and see what kind of response I received from her...regarding the Lewis Cash comment, I checked out his blog first and he's a flaming pseudo-intellectual type (school teacher) who's voting for Obama and is obviously a left wingnut...so I proded him hoping to elicite an angry response that I (we) could have some fun with....we'll see if he comes back and challenges....
you guys are fabulous!
Geee---
The only field trips I got in college were archeology sites and nuclear reactors.
Guess they knew me too well... .
I went to college for 5 years, or 4 1/2 years (whatever) for my undergrad degree. Then I went for about 3 years toward a masters (3 credits and a 400 externship short). I was never offered anything like that sort of a field trip - heck never had a field trip at all in college. I took the subway to school each day of undergrad, and took the subway and commuter train for grad school or drove. I only wish that had had a field trip like that - what can I say but I believe in legalizing the oldest professions, and letting the buyer beware but with monthly medicals for the pros. Of course I would also beleive in pretty strict regulation, but what the heck.
I do think a college field trip to a brothel was a waste of money. Any trip to a brothel should be for the purpose for which the brothel exists in the first place. When it comes to brothels I am a traditionalist.
All the best,
GB
School trips to a brothel, side comments about AfricanKelli, her post about how she denegrated the American Flag for public health week, and my comment left on her blog somehow came around to the subject of condoms! I guess it was all the suggestive material that guided me in wording my reply to her.
All the best,
