Stop it, just stop it! My eyes are starting to bleed!
It can't get much worse than this, can it? Taken from Breitbart.com;
HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Democrat Barack Obama says he won't just be a president for the American people, but the animals too.
"What about animal rights?" a woman shouted out during the candidate's town hall meeting outside Las Vegas Wednesday after he discussed issues that relate more to humans, like war, health care and the economy.
Obama responded that he cares about animal rights very much, "not only because I have a 9-year-old and 6-year-old who want a dog." He said he sponsored a bill to prevent horse slaughter in the Illinois state Senate and has been repeatedly endorsed by the Humane Society.
"I think how we treat our animals reflects how we treat each other," he said. "And it's very important that we have a president who is mindful of the cruelty that is perpetrated on animals."
This is the same man who voted against the Illinois Induced Infant Liability Act in 2002. This would have provided protection for babies that survived late term abortion ( you know, the procedure where everything but the head is extracted and then the brains are sucked out).
This guy cares more for Fido and Fluffy than human babies. He actively sponsored a bill to save Dobbin from the glue factory but worked against the saving of human babies who had already been subjected to abortion attempts. Not babies who hadn't had any action taken to kill them but those very, very few who had survived those actions.
Okay, he's a sleaze. Looks good in a suit, makes a lot of nice sounding noise, but still someone that qualifies as a two-legged cockroach.
What about the rest of us who solemnly consider him a strong candidate for the nation's highest office? What does it say about us as a people that we've gone this far down the road and now don't even blink about these things? I include those of us who feel disgusted because if you're like me you don't do a whole hell of a lot in this area. Maybe show up at the occasional prayer vigil, speak up in private conversation against it, wear a pro-life tee shirt once in a while. Post an occasional commentary on your blog maybe.
I know a good portion of us (including myself) will wait till it becomes a contest of Republican vs. Democrat, ceding the Democratic candidacy to an abortion proponent. Why wait that long? Why not at least send an email to the DNC telling them this is one topic that really sends us into the Republican camp? An email for crying out loud. How long does it take to compose and send one of them? Why wait for November? Why wait at all?
Look, if someone in either party seriously proposed legalizing beastiality he'd be kicked to the kerb in a New York minute. It's a topic that is so out of bounds, so unacceptable, so repugnant that it wouldn't even be considered. Yet we've allowed the acceptance of baby killing to grow to where it is now. How the hell did we get here anyway?
This isn't Nazi Germany, speaking out on topics like this won't get us a free train ride to Auschwitz. Yet our silence is deafening when compared to the growing acceptance of people like this and the philosophies they espouse.
Am I saying make it a life's cause? I dunno, but when talking about the Holocaust it seems fashionable to wonder how the German John Q. Public could have let that happen. How a blind eye could have been turned even by those living in the areas of the death camps.
One of my favorite stories about General Patton was how he came upon a camp and was so infuriated he had a local village populace forced to walk through it. Rubbing their noses in what they'd ignored for years as the ashes from the camp furnace would fall upon their homes. Supposedly the mayor went home and committed suicide, guess he finally faced the horror he had ignored.
It's easy as hell to claim we can't do anything, or to feel good with the empty gestures such as I've already listed. But the killing goes on. More babies have been slaughtered in American abortion mills in the last few years than troops have died on the battlefields of Iraq & Afghanistan. While I most definetly support our combat troops (and wish I could join their number) it's a fact they volunteered to be where they are. The innocent child in the womb had no such say so. Yet everyday the local fishwrap solemnly relates the toll from roadside bombs while staying silent on the subject of abortion. Let's not forget that newspapers are run for profit, if they see a topic has hold of the public conscious mind they'll put in the next edition. Yes, the MSM has a liberal slant. But when money talks even flaming liberals will listen.
On those occasions someone does speak up they're quickly shouted down or discounted as "zealots" by proponents of the culture of death. And the rest of us shake our heads at the whole situation and move on to the comics. We should be adding our voices to those supposed "zealots".
Here we are in 2008, living in a supposedly "Christian" nation whose highest courts are solemnly considering the question of lethal injection being too painful for serial killers. We bleed buckets over any pet found to be tortured by it's perverted owner, not even blinking if that same clown gets several years in the slammer for his acts.
And we're looking at an active proponent of infanticide being elected as our Chief Executive. Pardon me all over the place but just what the hell is wrong with us?
Somewhere in Hell there's an intercom saying, "Paging Dr. Moloch, please return to Earth. Your services are required."
If this post seems judgmental, it's meant to be. And in all honesty, I'm found lacking by that judgment.
UPDATE: I just got off my fat ass and sent an email asking the DNC how I can justify voting for any candidate who doesn't support my views on abortion. Will it change anything? Of course not. But it's more than I had done prior to today. Now I'll start looking for other ways to get involved.

Do not compare Obama to cockroaches, two legged or other.
Cockroaches have a purpose, and standards. (I don't understand cockroach standards, but they don't get mine.)
Obama, on the otherhand, doesn't.
IR, YIKES, you're ummm to the point today...and honey...you're long winded! Upcoming retirement seems to suit you!
My next question about Obama would be if he wants us all to become vegans. ..... then my next question would be if he has ties to any drug companies that sell Ferrous Gluconate..... then I'd just shut up and DON'T VOTE FOR HIM!....but that's me. (and why you don't see politics on my blog...you do it better!)
