Time to build on momentum.
With the defeat of the "comprehensive" Immigration "reform" bill in the Senate we've now stopped a turn for the worse in our illegal alien problem. The question we should ask with all the cries of jubilation about the effectiveness of talk radio and the internet news blogs is, "What next"?
Because if We The People spend too much time resting on our laurels the victory of the moment will be nothing more than that. A victory of the moment. IMHO we should build on the momentum provided and press our elected officials for further action in the area of illegal immigration.
By the defeat of this bill the will of the People was shown. This has proven that when We The People speak loud and persistently our representative form of government will start working as it should. Walking silently away now doesn't do anything besides guarantee we'll continue in a status quo. Foggy Bottom listened and very reluctantly responded. That response is the bare minimum. We should be taking our country back, working on the momentum gained from this decisive victory. Letting it all fall into cruise control is idiotic.
We need to put down the remote, get out of the recliner and get to work.
Just my opinion.
