Muslims not joining the military

Well isn't this enlightening!

I remember hearing stories of the Japanese Nisei (sp?) in WWII. How they enthusiastically lined up to fight, proving their patriotism and putting the lie to any idea that all Japanese Americans being a fifth column in the USA.

Naturally the spin doctors are already on the scene, blaming the military;

Ibrahim Hooper of the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an Islamic advocacy group, had this to say about the lack of Muslims in the U.S. Military. "The military have the same problem as civilian government agencies, such as the FBI. There is a general reluctance to join because Muslims think there is bias against them and career prospects are limited."

Fortunately there seems to be at least one dissenting voice. Retired Lt.Commander Jasser seems quick to throw the bullshit flag;

He points to some American Muslim organizations as planting the seeds of mistrust in the U.S. "Current American Islamist organizations (CAIR, MPAC, MAS) intentionally focus upon victimization and cultural division. They are incrementally creating an atmosphere which leads to a self-fulfilling prophecy. As they declare and fabricate bias and prejudice at every corner in America that will listen, they drive impressionable American Muslim youth away from deeper participation."

Good for him.
