A Catholic who follows Rome & the Magisterium. I'm against gay "marriage", abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, human cloning. Altar girls, Communion in the hand, Eucharistic Ministers and "Protestant" music in the Church doesn't bother me at all. A proud American retired submarine sailor. Our borders should be secured with a 10 ft. high fence topped by concertina wire with minefields out to 20 yards on both sides and an additional 10 yards filled with warning signs outside of that Let's get energy independent NOW! Back Israel to the max, stop appeasing followers of the Pedophile Prophet. Pro 2nd Amendment, pro death penalty, Repeal all hate crime legislation. Back the police unless you'd rather call a hippie when everything hits the fan. Get government out of dealing with education, childhood obesity and the enviornment. Stop using the military for sociological experiments and if we're in a war don't micromanage their every move. Kill your television, limit time on the computer and pick up a book. God's will be done and may He have mercy upon us all.

Ft. Hood shooter; good news...

Found at Breitbart.com. I can't think of a better guy for this to happen to, may he live a long life.

The army psychiatrist accused of a shooting rampage at the Fort Hood military base in Texas is permanently paralyzed, his lawyer said Friday.

Major Nidal Malik Hasan, who was charged with 13 counts of pre-meditated murder Thursday, was shot several times after he allegedly opened fire on a crowd of his fellow soldiers.

More than 100 bullets were fired in the troops readiness center and 42 other people were injured.

Hasan's doctors told him days ago that he will never walk again, said defense attorney John Galligan, who visited with Hasan on Thursday night.

Hasan does have some feeling in his hands and is in "significant pain" from his injuries, Galligan said.

"His medical condition is still extremely serious," he said, adding Hasan appeared confused and his speech is a "little garbled."

Asked whether Hasan expressed remorse, Galligan said: "We didn't get into that."

Hasan, who is being investigated for links to militant Islam, will be tried in a military court for the fatal shootings of 12 soldiers and one civilian. Further charges are expected.

FWIW, my brother died one month after being shot. The shooting was officially listed as the result of a robbery at his place of work. He was a dispatcher for an express delivery company, since he worked the graveyard shift it was only he and the shooter involved. They've never caught the bastard.

I mention this to establish my knowledge in the area of paralysis sufferers who were disabled due to gunfire. Up till his death (which came about via a blood clot) it appeared my brother would be a permanent paraplegic. Trusted medical sources told my mother and I that he'd be in constant pain for the rest of his life. Maybe he's better dead, I don't know. It's been twenty-five years now and a lot of water has gone under that bridge. May he rest in peace.

Anyway, with that in mind I'll repeat my wish that Hasan live a very long life. Since I believe in the possibility of deathbed conversions I'd have hated for the bastard to possibly die and go to a better place, leaving the bereaved families of his victims behind in this vale of tears. This is one instance in which I'm definitely opposed to the death penalty.

Let him rot in a government stockade for the next 50 or so years. May his victims and their families find peace.

Only problem is, if he lives then we the taxpayers will have to pay for his medical costs and up keep.

Hmmm...at least we won't have to worry about him making an escape attempt. SC, if this Muslim dies he will not be going to a better place. He will be going to a far worse place. The chances of a Christian death bed conversion are less than none.

I am very sorry to hear about your brother, 25 years later or not. May he be resting in God's loving care.

My wife and I are saddened, hearing about your brother's suffering after the robbery
and our sympathies to you, your family, Subvet. The pain never really goes away, does it?

Not so much sympathy though for Hasan, in fact, none.

Rev. Gregori, you're right. That would be the fly in the ointment.

Arby, true enough about his eternal destination. I'd just like to cover all bets. And thanks for the condolences regarding my brother.

TLM, thanks also for the condolences of you and your wife. Nope, not much sympathy at all for Hasan. One thing no one has mentioned is the condition of those wounded by him. How many of them will be crippled for life? Yet our MSM speaks first of that scum. Very significant.
